Dear 陳億慶兄,

2. Use the big5 for now on.
What you receive you can identify as Chinese.
And after you load using CWP, you see the five classmates.

That is why we need CWP for the Chinese text file.
I think this is the very first lesson, need your help.

Look this example, it is something like some of our classmate.
I can not give her any sugestion. I do not know her PC setting, etc.

抱歉我完全不知道你寫的是什么意思!!!!

After I read her Chinese text, I can imagine what is going wrong.

3. Your procedure help me understand your problem, now.
If you can read the web site: 中文
http://www.oocities.org/wuhow_peng/NEWS.html

This web site tell how to encode the 中文字 Chinese word to
big5 two letters code.

I agree on the paper work, so that why I am learning 中文,
And the freshman physics. that is what you tell me
again and again your solid state physics teacher story.
Yes, Confucious is patient and happy, so that why he is
so great!

3) Pt. 3: Here are steps that I did with your "mates.B5.txt":

A. When I double click on it, my PC uses
NotePad to display it with funny symbols.

B. When I use CWP to open it, 6 Mate names come onto screen nicely.

C. I can switch between "Traditional" and
"Simplified" characters by choosing either one under
"View".

D. I can save it as a .NJX file (See
attached.) which can invoke CWP when I double click on it.

4) I thought that you know how to create two
bilingual text strings by Yahoo translator, one in
Traditional and the other in Simplified (I think you
mentioned this facility?). Then, put them into two
separate eMails. Hopefully, the former is encoded in
Big5, and the latter is encoded in GB2312 or UTF-8.

5) Also, the "BabelFish" Translator may do
similar trick. I will try it soon.

6) I think that we are very close to get this
study project wrapped up. Remember my statement,
"Nothing is done until the paperwork is done."? The
goal is to produce a step by step instruction sheet
for the Mates, so that everyone can send and enjoy
reading bilingual MSGs without too much effort.

big5 for 陳億慶

Dear 陳億慶兄,

2. I hope CWP will help you on your projects.
To make sure the big5 or not is out of my knowledge.
We all suffer for long time using blind method.
It took me one year to make sure big5.
The gb2312 is good, too, but when I try to pass to you.
It cause some problems, so let make sure we can use CWP.

3. I can save the file, no warning message.
How come? I mean you type a new file.
Are you open a old file, and type some Chinese text?
In that case, you save to different file.

Now.
Let me reply to your message, and attach a big5
encoded file
file name mates.B5.TXT

I am very happy on this project. You can rephrase
what I mean.
I think most of us like to learn Chinese.
Let us chat using more Chinese.
The Chinese art, living are more interesting than
technologies!
