R.I.P Nannu...you will always be remembered, and you will always lay deep inside our hearts...you're finally free from this evil world and now you're in eternal rest...with your one & only pappa...you couldn't ask for more...and I'm glad you're in a better place...

A Silent Sufferer...
God saw you getting tired,
when a cure was not to be;
So He closed his arms around you,
and whispered "Come To Me".

You didn't deserve what you went through,
so He gave you rest.
God's Garden must be beautiful;
He only takes the best.

And when he saw you sleeping,
so peaceful and free from pain,
we could not wish you back;
to suffer that again...

Unforgettable Memories

-/Her continuous smile

-/Her Hawaiian dance (which she did at a younger age, obviously)

-/Her high heels, (at an old age!)

-/Her ability to speak more than 3 different languages (including German, Dutch and Indonesian)

-/Her friendliness towards everyone, including strangers

-/When she lay on the glass floor at the CN Tower, only TWO days after being in Canada for the first time

-/The way she never complained about anything, even though she was suffering

-/The way she used to bargain with the sales people at the markets

-/The way she sang to herself, even if she was in a tough situation

-/Her dedication towards her family, both in Canada and in Indonesia

-/Last, but not least: how strong she was when my grandfather died in my country; after being married for more than 50 years with my mother as the only child...who was in Canada with us...

At least she's with her better half...for eternity

Her Better Half
My grandparents had met each other in World War II, my grandmother was a nurse. She wasn't very fluent in English since she was so used to speaking in Indonesian and Dutch, so my grandfather, out of the kindness of his heart had taught her proper English. They had married at a young age and had my mother; their only child; and when my mom married my dad, my grandparents were crushed since she was their one and only child. My grandparents only had each other since they stayed in my country while my family and I were in Canada. About 8 years ago my grandfather was hit by ongoing trafic (in my country) and passed away. My grandmother was devastated, she had never learned to overcome this horrible incident. Following that, my grandmother stayed in Indonesia for 6 months, then came to Canada and lived with us until now. She slept in my room, leaving my sister and I sleeping in a SOFA BED in the living room. Eventually my room became my grandmother's room. Sleeping in my room again knowing that my grandmother used to sleep there for 8 years is kinda creepy, and it makes me think. I guess you never know what you've had until you've lost it...
