You're probably all wondering how WWF Mock Comics! came to be, right? No? Well fuck you because I'm still going to tell you....... The Beginning It all happened two years ago. My former partner in mockery, the Ultimate Farrior got bored one day and decided to make a short lil' comic using the pictures he found over at wrestlemaniahistory.com (the pictures have been taken down due to the WWF/WWF lawsuit). When Farrior had finished his project, he e-mailed it over to me. The comic didn't have a title but involved the Warrior and the Macho Man (pictures from WM7). I almost pissed myself when I saw the comic, I was laughing so damn hard. When I finally finished laughing, I decided I would make a comic too. I used the same pictures Farrior had used, but my story was different. When I was done, I sent it over to him. He laughed and told me he loved the "Papercut" comments. After we both finished complimenting each other, I got an idea. I thought it would be fun to make a website dedicated to these comics. I brought it up to, Farrior and he agreed. I got right to work on the site (using the formerly known as "Free" website builder, Homestead), but didn't have a name for it. Eventually the cheesy name just came to me. So the site was in the works as were the comics. I went a little crazy on the comic making, as to where Farrior took his time (well, he got lazy I think). Now since this was my third site, the layout was extremely shitty. A lot shitter then this one. I also didn't wanna go to crazy on making the site look nice. I just wanted to get the comics up so people could see them. Now for a site that wasn't heavily promoted and couldn't be found in a search engine, it got a good number of hits. Around 400 in a just few months (Nothing to really brag about. I wouldn't be surprised if Farrior just kept hitting the refresh button). The End The site was up for about a year and then I recieved an e-mail from Homestead. The e-mail stated that since the FREE site builder was so popular, they were going to start charging people to use it. So it became a "pay for the builder" site. I find it hard to believe that since the builder was so popular, they were gonna start charging people. I think the builder was a flop (even though I liked it) so Homestead started losing money. There was only a little time left before every webmaster that didn't fill in the new sign up application, lost their website. The hardwork that was put into creating WWF Mock Comics! meant nothing to the suits at Homestead. The hardwork every webmaster put into their Homestead site meant nothing to them either. Before the site went Ka-poot, I posted my "Goodbyes" and 3 months later, the site was gone. T'was a sad day for the mockery. For a year I worked on that site and for a year Farrior and I worked on creating comics for it. Sure some of our comics were bad, but I think the majority of them were good. The Return A few months after the lose of WWF Mock Comics! I was Im'd by a friend of mine who I hadn't spoken to in a long time. He asked me what had happened to the site. I explained the whole thing to him. He told me how much it sucks that Homestead sold-out and what not and how he was showing the site to a bunch of people he knew, before the demise. After talking to him for a little while, I decided that WWF Mock Comics! needs to come back. I couldn't let it die. I still had so many unworded comics waiting to be..... worded, in my WWF Mock Comics! file. Plus, I still had the old ones saved. I figured I'd use Geocities. I have tried using them once before for the Thanksgiving: The Curse of Turkey Buyers website (which is up) but was having problems with it. Before I used Geocities, however, I tried other site builders, but they were horrible. So finally I get WWF Mock Comics! up and running. I worked all night on it, getting the comics up and whatnot and then the next day, I linked Farrior to site. He said "Oh man, you brought it back, lol" (I hate LOL. Say "Hahahaha"). I asked him if he wanted to create more comics for it. He told me he would but never actually did. I think he just lost all the passion he once had in creating mockery. As time went by, Farrior and I got into a pretty silly feud. It's a long story so I won't go into it (This story is long enough). I ended up getting so angry at Farrior that I took his comics down and bashed him in the "Did you know" section. I don't know if he knew about that because I don't know if he was going to the site during our feud. So the feud went on and on and then I started having problems with the site. It wouldn't upload pictures. I got annoyed because I really wanted to post the comics I had. I decided to make a "sequel" site, which is the site you're on now, duh. Eventually Farrior and I ended our feud and are now on good terms with each other, but we're no longer friends. I had wanted to repost Farrior's comics, but they're gone, along with all the other comics I have posted on the original site. See, my hard-drive literally burned itself out, so any info I had on it is completely gone. Regardless, the original comics can still be viewed on the original site, because even though I don't have 'em on my hard-drive anymore, they're still around because of the site. Thank goodness. So there's a little WWF Mock Comics! history for all you people. I don't care if you didn't want it either. You do know this is going to be on your test, right? |
