As Bananas ripen they produce a harmless natural gas called ethylene, However, because most other fruits are nearly fully ripe by the time they reach the fruit bowl, the ethylene emitted by the constantly ripening bananas can cause them to quickly over ripen. That’s why you should store bananas separately, and this intriguing wooden “Banana - Stand” has been designed for the purpose. Standing aprox 30cm (12inches) high on a stable square base, it suspends the bunch on a brassed hook to prevent brusing. |
