What Helped Me The Most...
Busy myself with something else when I get an urge or craving
I give credit to Dr. Phil McGraw's book, The Ultimate Weight Loss Solution for providing me with this tool for success.  Previous diet efforts were sabotaged in the afternoon when I succumbed to the "need" for chocolate.  Dr. Phil taught me to busy myself with something else and it really works to take my mind off cravings.
Dining out and eating "treats"
I eat out quite often.  I order food that fits into my plan for the day.  I eat a "treat" such as a low fat yogurt bar or Baked Lays potato chips almost daily.  I don't feel deprived.
Weight Watchers Flex Points Program
I simply love this program.  I eat a certain number of "points" every day.  The points are based on the food's fat and fiber content and this plan encourages low fat, high fiber eating which keeps me full and safisfied.  I created a one-page tracker to write down my points each day of the week.  In addition to daily points, I have "flex" points which I use when eating out or on weekends.
Exercise
I make daily exercise a priority.  I've been  snowshoeing, walking, biking, and lifting weights.  My weight loss would take much longer without exercise.
Frozen Dinners
Yes, I attribute much of my success to lean,  frozen entrees.  They save me from grabbing food when I'm too hungry to cook a "real" dinner.  I find them delicious, satisfying, and best of all, portion-controlled.  Would I ever cook Chicken Tuscany or Chicken Marguerita on a Monday night?  Probably not but thanks to Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, and Weight Watchers, weekday eating can be pretty fancy.  While I'll admit the nutritional quality may be lacking, most have less sodium than canned soup.

I leaned more heavily on the frozen dinners early on to get portions under control.  I continue to use them for fast meals and lunches.
Weight Watchers Online
I am an active online member of Weight Watchers.  I like the online membership because it is there for me every day of the week.  There is much less emphasis on the weekly weigh-in.   With no meetings to miss or quit and no fees to pay, there's no "going on / going off a diet".  I do plan to attend meetings for maintenance, however.

The support I've received online has been fantastic.  I joined an online group consisting of about ten active members and we post friendly messages to each other daily.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT, WONDER WOMEN OF WEIGHT WATCHERS!!!
A special note to my Weight Watchers Friends:

I am no different than you.  I am not a super dieter nor a super exerciser.  I am neither thin nor in great shape.  I struggled for many years with my weight and made several attempts to lose it  "once and for all".  I finally started doing the right thing in moderation and then I improved upon doing the right thing over a period of time (15 months to be exact).

YOU can do this, too!

Many who view my web site say that I must be very proud of myself.  That isn't it at all.  I'm simply very relieved to be feeling and looking like myself again.  I built this web site to help me in maintenance and to offer inspiration to those who are struggling with their weight.

Thanks for visiting my web site.  I hope for the best for you and I look forward to visiting with you on the message boards.
