In silent memory of those who suffer from the effects of alcoholism.
“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out.”

Seek and Ye shall find.  There was no burning bush, no thunderbolts from heaven, no choir of angels.  The only thing that has proved to me God actually existed; is the fact my needs are always met.

At first there was this fearful doubt…that I didn't deserve to have God in my life.  Others showed me that God loves me; deserving or not; and would always meet my needs.

Having said that; pray as I might for what I want, my prayers seemed to fall on deaf ears if they fell outside the parameters of seek, surrender, and serve.

As time has passed, I have had come a deeper understanding of my spirituality and faith.  It continues to mature.

The God I have come to know is far from the vengeful and wrathful God that I was introduced to in my youth.  I was using others' understanding of God.  I had to come to an understanding of God on my own.  What I have come to believe flies in the face of everything that I was taught.  God loves me.  God gives me choices and makes me responsible for those choices.  God puts people, places, and things in my life to teach me what He wants me to learn…when He wants me to learn it.  As a steward of these Divine lessons, I am obligated to pass them on to those who want to learn them.

The eleventh step is about Seeking God's will.  The eleventh step is about surrendering my will to His.  The eleventh step is about understanding that will.
