That’s right! That is if you will let us. I won’t kid you, you will be asked to do things that you will not want to do and have experiences that you might think border on cruel and unusual punishment. But if you are truly serious about not taking another drink; then you should be willing to do what ever it takes to accomplish that goal.
So, what do you do first? Pick up the phone book and call your local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous. If you do not have a phone book, there is one at the bottom of this page that you can look up your local A. A. groups.
If that doesn’t work, pick up the phone and call 911. Ask for help and it shall be given. Go to a church, a fire house, an emergency room… someone will help you.
Soon, you will be among us. We know the roads you have traveled. We have stumbled along many of the same paths. We have had many of the same fears and almost all of the same problems. Collectively there has not been a situation, person, place or thing that has not been encountered by us. Our sobriety collectively, spans seventy-five years, one day at a time. Together we have found the solution to staying sober through every situation that confronts us. That solution is in the sharing of our experience, strength, and hope in the group as we meet to solve our common problem; alcoholism.
We cannot judge you to be an alcoholic. We cannot make you seek help and go where you do not wish to go. These things you must decide for yourself.
But...If you do decide that you want and need help…we are here. But it is you that must reach out and take that first step. Admit that you are powerless over alcohol - that your life is unmanageable.
You will be surprised in how your life will change…If you let us help. |
