The key to finding
these claims are finding the "willies handcart", "mormon memorial" sight.
There are numerous signs to point you in the right direction or stop at
the store in atlantic city and ask for directions. The road to them is
well maintained and unless its early spring or after a lot of rain, its
accessible by cars and rv's.
Once you get to the "willies handcart"
sight (you are there once you cross the bridge and see the cinder block
rest room building) unless you have a good idea where you are going I suggest
you park at the "willies handcart" cross the fence to the south (down stream)
and walk through the "mormon memorial". It is an interesting peice of history.
Walk through the sight, then a bit past the outdoor worship area (stepped
benches) is a fence with a gate in it, once you are on the other side of
this gate you are on the carol claim. Walk down to the camp sights and
road. This way you will know where you are going when you go back to your
car. After you get back into your vehicle proceed through willies handcart
and up the hill. Cross the cattle guard and drive till you make a sweeping
right hand turn. Right after this, turn right on the first two track
road. this road will take you to the carol.
