Chevelle and a band of three brothers from Chicago. They started off as drummer Sam Loeffler, his brother Pete Loeffler on guitar, and someone else on bass. Thier other brother Joe soon picked up on bass, and Sam and Pete noticed he was better then thier bassist so they replaced him with Joe. Chevelle soon landed a deal with Squint Entartainment and released thier debut-indie album "Point #1," in 1999. The album soon became a hit on collage radio stations. The album's two singles "MIA," and "Point #1," were also big on collage radio. "Point #1" went on to sell over 100,000 copies. The band then started touring with big name acts like Type O Negative, Machine Head, Powerman 5000, Sevendust. Static-X, and Filter. They reached to many Chicago fans including David Draiman of Disturbed. The high sales of "Point #1," and thier touring soon forced Chevelle to split with Squint Entertainment and look for a bigger deal. They soon inked a deal with Epic Records. In the summer of 2002 Chevelle hot the road on the Ozz-Fest tour. They were second stage standouts as they toured with System Of A Down, P.O.D., Adema, Drowning Pool, Rob Zombie, and Ozzy. They shared the sname stage as other breakout artists like Meshuggah, The Used, Andrew W.K., Seether, 3rd Strike, and others. In 2002 they also hit the studio with GGGarth Richardson. GGGarth is famous for producing records for political rap-rockers Rage Against the Machine, and shock-rockers Mudvayne. The album was recorded in The Warehouse in Vancouver. The album "Wonder Whats Next" was named from what the band thought when the split with Squint Entertainment. The first single from the album was "The Red." The song picked up heavy MTV rotation and was a hit on the Modern, and Mainstream rock charts. "The Red" is a about being at a breaking point, and trying to accomplish something. The video was directed by Nathan Karma Cox  (System Of A Down, Mest, Linkin Park, Static-X, Disturbed,) and takes place in a anger managment place. The songs success landed the album to debuted at #15 on Billboard. Since then the album has gone Platinum selling over 1,000,000 copies. The second single was "Send The Pain Below." Again the song was hit. The song topped the Mainstream Rock Chart for a few weeks, and the Modern Rock Charts shortly. The video has a pro-snowboarder pack, and try to regain courage to return to the hills. The video as shot in Lake Tohoe. In the past Chevelle have toured with Stone Sour, Pulse Ultra, Disturbed, Unloco, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Sinch, Ill Nino, Our Lady Peace, Kid Rock, Unwritten Law, Stone Temple Pilots, Uncle Kracker, Breaking Benjamin, Cusom, TRUSTcompany, Cinder, Trapt, The Exiees, Pacifier, and more.
