The ninty's produced many big bands like Bush, Nirvania, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cypress Hill, Our Lady Peace, and Weezer, but the biggest was defintly Korn. Korn started off thier heavy-metal career in 1994 with the album "Korn" and the first single "Blind." They were big from the beginning, but had no idea how big they'd become. The next single "Shoots And Ladders" featured front man Jonathon Davis on the bagpies. The band started touring with metal bands Biohazard, Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, Danzig, Sick Of It All, and others bands like 311, and rappers House Of Pain. In 1995 they released "Clown" which was also a hit. The next album "Life Is Peachy" featured some very explict lyrics so it was limited from big success. It produced contreversal songs like "A.D.I.D.A.S." In 1998 Korn released the "Follow The LEader" album and the hit "Got The Life." "Got The Life" and topped many charts. Next came the massive hit "Freak On A Leash." The video was filled with many speacial effects and was nominated and won lots of MTV video awards. The video raised contreversy because of the bullet that flys around in the video and was blamed for the Colorado shootings. They are the originaters of the family values tour Staind, Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots, Deadsy, Limp Bizkit, Static-X, Rammstien, Ice Cube, Redman, Method Man, The Crystal Method, and Slipknot have all preformed on the tour. The band released "Issues" and four more hits before the turn of the century. In early 2001 Jonathon Davis directed a movie and picked the soundtrack which feautures Static-X, The X-Ecutioners, members of Linkin Park, Static-X, and Disturbed. Later on Korn was back with a new album and video. "Untouchables" was released in June, and the video "Here To Stay" released in May were the album and single to make the ultimate comeback. The video for "Here To Stay" has stuff featuring death, open heart surgery, and more explict stuff and is to show what kids are watching on T.V. Jonathon also annocunced he was making a serial killer musseum which is collections of newspaper articals, and more. Korn also had mini toys made after them too. In the summer Korn toured with Puddle Of Mudd, Deadsy, and released the second single of the album "Thoughtless." The video has some guy who is getting beat up and is filled with tons of special effects. The third single off of "Untouchables" was "Alone I Break." The video was directed by a contest winner from MTV. The video was shot in a break from KoRn's "Pop Sux" tour with Disturbed, who were influenced by Korn, and newcomers TRUSTcompany. In 2003 KoRn returned with "Did My Time," from the Tomb Raider: Cradle Of Life movie, not soundtrack. Over Korn's career they've worked with Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, and Ice Cube. Limp Bizkit and Korn are close. Jonathon Davis appears in Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" video with Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. Head recorded only the new Limp Bizkit album as well. Fieldy also went solo and released his album "Fieldy's Dreams." The band also had a big role in an episode of South Park. Jonathon even owns his own Serial Killer mussem, filled with Serial Killer stuff he has collected. KoRn are curently on tour in Ozz-Fest with Marylin Manson, Chevelle, Disturbed, The Datsuns, and Ozzy on the main stage. Jonathon is bringing a 1000 foot display of items he has collected on tour. The new album is due after the tour. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
