Ajax punk rock group Sum 41 are almong one of today's up roar of pop-punk bands. Sum 41 gained much success from 2000's debut hit "Makes No Difference." It was off thier debute record "Half Hour Of Power," which is many pounding punk-rock anthems. The punk-pop song was on BigShnyTunes 5 with Filter, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 3 Doors Down, Limp Bizkit, Blink 182, and treble charger. Sum 41's manager Greig Nori is also the lead singer of treble charger. Nori appeared on the next Sum 41 album "All Killer No Filler." He did back vocals on the hit "Motivation," and guitar on the 80's metal song "Pain For Pleasure." The first single off of "All Killer No Filler" was the hard-rock-punk-pop song "Fat Lip." The single earned them much success and made "All Killer No Filler" fly up the album charts.
They earned big success in Canada, The United States, The U.K., and across the world as well. "Fat Lip" was nominated for best new group at the MTV VMA's but didn't win. The band won three MuchMusic videos awards for it as well. The second single "In Too Deep" was a rock-pop song about a releationship. The song gained them more success world wide and Sum 41 seemed unstoppable. The third and last single from "All Killer No Filler" was "Motivation." With back-up vocals from treble charger's Grieg Nori, and alternative-punk sounds Sum 41 were back on top of punk charts again.. Sum 41 went on tour with Goldfinger, then came back and released their fifth video and single "What We're All About." The song is a rock song dedicated to rock with some rap elements. It was off the Spiderman sountdtrack with Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, Saliva's Josey Scott, Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Default, The Hives, The Strokes, and Aerosmith. Sum 41 then went to record thier new album "Does This Look Infected?" The band then announced they'd do more 80's metal and less punk. Sum 41 where to become Iron Maiden. The first single off of "Does This Look Infected?" was "Still Waiting." The video is spoffs on other videos by The Strokes, The Hives, and The Vines. Also they have thier names changed and Sum 41 becomes The Sums. The second single was "The Hell Song." The video has people playing with dolls of George W. Bush, Korn, Marylin Manson, Metallica, Kiss, Barbies, and others. The song was also a smash on MTV like "Still Waiting." The third single "Over my Head" got way less attention. The video got rotation on Muchmusic, but not much on MTV. The video is Sum 41 partying backstage, and preformances.The album comes with a DVD "Cross You T's And Gouge Your Eyes." The DVD has home videos, and backstage footage of Sum 41 partying and pulling pranks. It also has alternate beginings to the "Still Waiting' video. Sum 41 also made a cameo in manager Greig Nori's band treble charger's "Hundred Million" video. Gob, Avril Lavigne, and Swollen Members also make cameos. Deryk also did back-up vocals in the song. Grieg did backing vocals and guitar on "Motivation" and another song on "All Killer No Filler."
