Unwritten Law are a Blink 182 meets Green Day punk rock band. Thier powerful lyrics and medolic riffs make Unwritten Law everything a punk band can produce. In the late 90's Unwritten Law started releasing stuff. "Teenage Suicide" was the first single off of the second album "Unwritten Law." The song sounded just like pop-punk band Blink 182, who were getting very big at the time, therefore getting Unwritten Law some airplay. The bands follow up song was "California Sky" which was with Blink 182. It took Unwritten Law four more years to get results. After another album and single Unwritten Law finaly hit it big. "Seein' Red" was the first single off of "Elva" the groups forth album. "Seein' Red" topped the Billboard Modern Rock Charts for four weeks straight beating out the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Puddle Of Mudd, and Hoobastank. "Elva" was a smash album and "Seein' Red" was dominating MTV and radio airwaves. The band got to play a show with Sugarcult and M.E.S.T. At the show the roof started collapsing during a Sugacult prefomance. Unwritten Law, and M.E.S.T. who didn't even play went outside and Scott Russo and M.E.S.T. singer Tony Lovato played acoustic congs on top of a U-Haul trailer. Unwritten Law's trouble didn't stop there. While writing the words to the "Elva" album they rented a house. They partied non-stop with people causing a $15,000 bill for the damage. The incident spawed the lyrics to Unwritten Law's second single "Up All Night." The song wasn't as big as "Seein' Red" ang got more radio airplay then MTV airplay. In winter 2002 Unwritten Law took part in MTV's Music In High Places. It is a show were a band goes to a remote place and does acoustic preformences. The show produced the video for "Rest Of My Life." The video is mainly them preforming but also them exploring Yellowstone National Park. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
