If Closets Could Talk & On Our Way Home

Hey
Joe, What Does It Mean
If
It Burns When I Piss?
I
Covered for your lies `cos I was your friend You claim it was only
every now and then Seems more like every now and every then In
fact there's no time I can't remember when
Remember the night
after her party The night you transformed me from a friend into a
tool When you drove the bodacious one out behind the school You
never saw it coming but caught her tainted jewel
Now I fear that
even truth can't set me free I don't want to hurt her again when she's
my friend too She'd leave you and despise me if she only knew I
went along when I knew all along it wasn't true
As if date rape
wasn't bad enough for her You made her pay your doctor's bills for
giving you herpes Made her feel false guilt and bare your burden on her
knees For turning her true love into a sexual disease
She has suffered
so, imagine how she felt Believing it was her fault for making
your dick melt When all along it was your cheating with her best
friend You are the virus that brought four friendships to an
end

If
Closets Could Talk
When
friendship's based on lies The truth can remain hidden but it never
dies It lives and breeds within, consuming hope for peace of mind
Will my avowal allow me to seek what I must find?
You are not
worthy of her And she deserved so much more than you ever were I'd
have given anything to touch her kind of love I wonder, do you care
who you're under or above?
I'm through lying for you Dusting
off old skeletons so they match the new I realized too late that you
never were my friend And I'm left to carry a pain that will not mend
We wuz best friends back then Now I'm ashamed when I look back
at were we've been I'd have done it differently if I had lived your
life Love was not enough, you could have had the perfect wife
Our friendship's based on lies And my guilt tares me apart
every time she cries But still I cannot tell her for fear she'll hate
me too The truth won't help me now, I'm damned no matter what I do
Now that's unimportant To cause so much pain was the inverse
of my intent It matters not that I am not the only one to blame I
still bear the guilt for extinguishing the flame

Soul Silhouette
Forgive
and forget Is a phrase I have used You're certain you've won some
twisted bet But I'm afraid you have the facts confused And you
shouldn't count the payout yet For trust isn't something to be
abused No my trust isn't something you should have abused
There is no regret To be found within you Wealth is all you know
how to pursue Though money can never repay your debt So give from
within, your payment's past due Learn to stand tall without a safety
net It's time you were more than a dark silhouette

Final verse of Ambulance Blues by Neil
Young "I NEVER KNEW A MAN
COULD TELL SO MANY LIES HE HAD A DIFFERENT STORY FOR
EVERY SET OF EYES HOW CAN HE REMEMBER WHO HE'S TALKING TO?
I KNOW IT AIN'T ME AND I HOPE IT ISN'T YOU"

YOUNG "AMBULANCE BLUES" Copyright 1974 Silver Fiddle -

On Our Way
Home Drive
Home Johnny won't you drive on home? And when your on your
way away from here Why don't you tilt back and down a beer?
Drive Home!
Drive home Johnny don't you drive alone
There is no need to fear what you can't see So relax and
have a beer on me. Drive Home!
Drive home Johnny got
your friend all stoned He says "Beware of that telephone pole"
The faster you speed the more heads will role. Drive Home!
Drive home Johnny you won't make it home A fair
price to pay is the fate you'll share Tonight's the night you're
gonna lose your hair. Drive Home!
Drive Home
Johnnies mother's on the phone Johnnies friend won't be
sleeping in his bed It rolled so far they haven't found his
head. Fly Home!
Fly Home Johnny sings the jailbird
moan You felt lucky cause you survived the ride But locked
in your cell you can't run and hide. You're Home!

If Closets
Could Talk (Original) As a
side note to poem at the top of this page, "If Closets Could Talk",
I originally started writing it after waking up from a bad dream
and couldn't find the paper when I woke up in the morning. I had
only written one stanza so I started over and then later found the
paper I had been writing on the night before. Unfortunately I
couldn't find a place to make it work in the new version. Later,
after re-writing the poem, I finished the original by
expanding the story more completely and include it here under the
title "Hey Joe, What Does It Mean If It Burns When I Piss?" which is
what he asked me after he began to feel the pain from the herpes.
TOO LATE!
Betrayed What goes through the mind of someone betrayed? What
happens to make someone do things that she would never have done?
What makes another person who knows right from wrong, who knows that
lies will be uncovered or haunt his mind until he confesses, to
deceive someone he cares for so very much? What makes a friend ask
another to tell lies for him? And what makes one friend more
important than the truth, or worse, more important than an innocent
woman?

On Our Way
HomeThis
was inspired by several events that have occurred during my life.
I've lost quite a few friends over the years from drunk driving and
I felt like writing something about it, but found it very hard to
write about dead friends. So I wrote something general that
expressed my feelings about it. My thoughts are always drawn to a
friend of mine who was killed by a drunk driver while he was riding
his bike. It was a hit and run and his brother found him lying on
the side of the road shortly after he had been hit by the car.
Richard was a good kid and a great friend, we had some fun times
together and nearly 30 years later I still miss him.
