An alternate-universe story where the Jinzoningen appeared later, there were more of them, and only the Saiya-jin Prince is left to take care of everyone.  Masterfully written and emotional.  Rated R for violence, a strong romantic scene, implied sex, evidence of rape, and expletives.

The sequel to "The Softening of Stone", equally well-written and insightful.  A very, very sad story, in 3 parts.  Rated R for injury detail, implied sex, and expletives.
