Nulkon
The young man only looked at him for a moment before returning to shaking one of the young men who was still fast asleep despite the noise and the shaking he was getting. The young man gritted his teeth and Nulkon tried to recall his name. "Yes, the eggs are hatching and this sharding idiot is going to miss it if he doesn't wake up!" "Here, move, I know. If this doesn't work he can miss the hatching and it won't be our fault!" said Nulkon, pushing the young man out of his way and grabbing the sheets covering the sleeper. He yanked and the young man came tumbling out of his bed into a heap on the floor. Nulkon grinned and turned to put on his white robe. "Huh, what?" exclaimed the young man as he jumped to his feet. He looked around and saw Nulkon getting ready. His eyes lit up then, "This means the eggs are hatching, right?" "That's right man, you better get your rear in gear. Shards but I think you must be able to sleep through anything. The other guys were shaking you and it took me knocking you on the floor to wake you up!" replied Nulkon with a laugh. He slapped the young man on the arm and rushed from the room, determined not to miss the hatching because he was too busy talking to some fool who wouldn't wake up. Nulkon entered the hatching sands and felt suddenly quite nervous. What would happen if he didn't impress? Would they force him to go back to his father? He gulped nervously, not wanting to face his family once they found out about Shaki's pregnancy. But then the eggs were hatching and he had no further time for regrets. The first to hatch was a brown, then a blue, a green, and another brown. Then came a surprise as a female purple burst from her shell. She made her choice and the next to hatch was a bronze. Nulkon had no illusions about being a bronze rider so he wasn't at all disappointed as the bronze chose another young man. Two greens were the next to hatch and Nulkon watched the young women with a smile as they impressed. Then came the much expected gold and Nulkon watched in amusement as all the girls seemed to hold their breath. The gold chose and Nulkon turned his gaze back to the sands where a blue and twin greens had hatched. He arched his eyebrows at the blue, hoping it would come for him but the two greens impressed first and then the blue didn't even look his way. Nulkon sighed and watched the next three rocking eggs. Two of them broke to reveal blues but these two didn't want him either. They fought and two young men stepped forward to pull them apart. Then the third egg that had been rocking hatching to reveal a brown. He bellowed loudly and made a mad dash towards Nulkon, pouncing on him and knocking him to the ground. The brown sat there on his chest peering down at him and Nulkon laughed. ![]() I'm sorry, N'kon said Armenth as he stood. I was just so glad to see you. "It's okay, Armenth. Come on let's go get you some food," N'kon grinned down at the hatchling then flashed his winning smile at the remaining girls. None of them were paying attention though so he led Armenth from the sands and out to where the food was waiting. |
