I have some news to add as well but I will ahve to do that in the morn. I been working alot and so I am behind in general on everything. But I will update tomorrow. Have a good night!

    February 25th

  • I added three more clips for Coffee Talk 2. All I will be able to do today as I am quite busy with real life. But I will update late night tomorrow. Have a good one!

    February 24th

  • Ok I got sidetracked again. Sorry about that. As many know, Kit #6 was mailed out recently and I got mine a few days ago. I made a couple clips of Coffee Talk 2 and will add more as I can this week. It was nice to see Renee and Lucy interact as friends and see little Julius too. He is so damn cute!!

  • And head over to Mary D's site! She has a new interview up with Lucy with Metro magazine published in New Zealand. This article gives so much insight into Lucy and what she felt during the end of filming of Season 6. Run don't walk to read this interview!! Lucy looks awesome!!

  • On March 22, 2003 at 9/11 EST/PST, one of Kevin Smith's last movies he did will be played on the Sci-Fi channel. So set those vcrs! To me this is not to be missed!!

Welcome to legendary author Philip José Farmer's Earthlike afterlife, where people from every era have been reborn young and healthy — and where an astronaut and a motley assortment of allies battle an ancient Roman emperor and a Viking warlord for the soul of humanity. In the year 2009, a meteor shower above Earth claims the life of astronaut Jeff Hale (Brad Johnson of the Left Behind movies, Steven Spielberg's Always and TV's Soldier of Fortune, Inc.). He awakens in an ocean of jade-green geodesic bubbles, as a mysterious cloaked figure pierces him with a pike. Dazed and in pain, he soon finds himself crawling onto a beach littered with canisters of clothing. Soon dozens of people from different lands and eras emerge from the water. Remarkably, they understand each other's language — all except for the lone Neanderthal man, who is killed by the ancient Roman Lucius Domitus Ahenobarbus (Jonathan Cake, First Knight), who became infamous under another name....Suddenly: hoofbeats! The warlord Valdemar (the late Kevin Smith of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, in his 2nd last final role) thunders in with an army, to announce that he is the ruler of Riverworld and that the newcomers are to be soldiers, workers or slaves. Soon Hale and a motley band of compatriots — among them the now beautiful and young octogenarian Alice Liddell Hargreaves (Emily Lloyd, A River Runs Through It), a famous writer and Mississippi riverboat captain named Samuel (Cameron Daddo, star of F/X: The Series), concentration-camp victim Lev Ruach (Jeremy Birchall), stunning African priestess Mali (Madonna dancer Karen Holness, Atomic Train, Rated X) and the alien Monat (Brian Moore), who died on Earth — fight for their freedom and to learn the secret of RIVERWORLD. http://www.scifi.com/onair/scifipictures/riverworld/

  • Well I was going to put up more Lucy on Jimmy Kimmel images and I will for sure tomorrow, but I got wonderfully sidetracked by a clip of Renee on Entertainment Tonight during her TvGuide Photshoot. This was donated by a new friend who wishes to remain anonymous. So I put up the clip and a nice photo from the photoshoot. If anyone can remember the date this was aired I would apppreciate it. It could of been around '98 or '99 I think.

Well I got my Kit #6 thanx to a very generous Xenite and fan of my website. So thank you first and foremost to Kay for the gift. It has brought alot of happiness to me. I added the scanned images from the kit to my Image Gallery for everyone to enjoy. I added two new Gabbys to the Gabby Gallery, Three or four of Xena to the Xena Gallery and two of Gabby and Xena to the, you guessed it, the Xena/Gabs Gallery. I want to finish adding images of Lucy on Jimmy Kimmel. But unfortunately I have to work tomorrow so that will have to wait til tomorrow sometime.

  • As well I added Dark Horse Issue #1 for reading in the Comics section. This comic takes place during the Ides of March and has a totally different story line and twist. Worth the read! I will add another soon, Issue two most likely.

  • There is also an article at the NZ Herald Website regarding Kevin Smith and the one year anny of his death. I know I did not mention it on my what's new page. It was because I was in the Yahoo Xena chat watching the NZ tribue on webcam from a friend in NZ and listening on the mic. It was very moving to say the very least and very hard to watch at the same time. It's very hard to forget someone like Kevin Smith. It was wonderful though to see so many people rememebr him from every walk of life. We miss ya Kevin!

  • Also I know I missed Renee's Birthday so I Happy Belated Birthday to her! I hope she was able to have a good day even though it was a near Kevin's anny.

    February 14th

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!! I got my audio card up and configured and the capture card warmed up again. So the clips for Lucy on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show are done and available. I have to say this talk show is a bit pathetic. The host isn't much better. Jimmel Kimmel could only focus on her embarrassing times or ask her stupid questions as if she had nothing else going on. Not once did he ask about her singing tour, Vagina Monologues or her family. I would never watch this talk show again and I think Lucy's agent should not settle for this kind of publicity. Lucy deserves better. On the good note she looked awesome. I didn't like her top at first but after viewing the tape a few more times I have taken a liking to it after all. Oh yes as well they made fun of Xenites with the Armenian Comic. Now at first it pissed me off. Then the second time it bugged me less. The third I saw the humour, the fourth I left it go and laughed my butt off cause really it is making more fun of the Armenian comic dressed as Xena with his big belly, to me that is, than anything. If we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at? So enjoy the clips and I will try and get images up tonight or tomorrow. All depends on real life. Have a good night!

    February 13th

I am very sorry. I was going to get the Lucy on the Jimmy Kimmel two nights ago but I did something very stupid. I had my computer cover off to change the CMOS battery and when I was carrying a glas with some milk in it I tripped and it spilled on my audio card and motherboard. YES I KNOW! STUPID STUPID!! So I had to take the ole girl to the comp shop to be cleaned and try and salvage what I could. I got a new motherboard and chip and seems my audio card is not working. I need it to work to use my capture card. I will be getting a new audio card this afternoon and so I will try and get that clip up tonight. I just have to get the new audiocard in and configure everything. So I will update later and let everyone know if I can get it up!

    February 11th

VCR ALERT! Lucy Lawless will be on the Jimmy Kimmel late show tonight! I will tape and make a clip and grabs of the show as soon as it is over! About time we got some more Lucy! It is list as well on the abc website for Jimmy Kimmel! It is on at 11:50/12:50 CST/EST So watch for an another update from me tonight!

    February 6th

  • I finished putting up Unchained Heart. The whole Xen Herc lovey dovey thing has me cracking up here! *LOL* But great ep all the same.

  • As well I added some new videos by TrueXena. It is Xena/Gabs video to the song The Color of My Love by Celine Dion. Big warning, this video will make ya cry to grab a box of kleenex! As well added three Bad Girls videos as well. And the Xena video Hero by Enrique Iglesias has also been revamped and re-coded, so check them out!

  • I will not be updating for February 7th because it is my birthday and I am going to see Lord of the Rings II!! But I will update on Saturday the 8th! Have a Good Friday!!

    February 5th

  • Hi everyone! I added three more clips for Unchained Heart and I think I may be able to finish up the ep tomorrow. I am not sure what I will put up next. I will think on that. Although I have received quite a few requests.

  • And KTL on the Flawless list posted some Lucy/Xena mentions! Thanks for posting it!

Lucy made the "Noted Personalities" list again in the World Almanac and Book of Facts 2003.

She's also in the Encyclopaedia Britannica Almanac 2003 under "Personalities". (Not "Noted", just personalities--them British don't want to get too excited, ya know.) I don't know if she's been in this one before or not--I usually just get the World Almanac.

She was also mentioned in the People Magazine 2003 Almanac.

AND I just ran across another Xener mention.

I'm reading the excellent and delightful Nevada Barr series about Anna Pigeon, National Park Service Law Enforcement Ranger. In "Blind Descent", Anna had just pilfered her temporary roomate's stash of fancy shampoos and lotions before going off to talk to her about "the case". They meet up in Carlsbad Caverns.

    And I quote:

Sniffing audibly, Zeddie said, "Do I smell Plumeria?"
"I've been playing with your toys," Anna admitted.
"Good for the soul. Even Xena the Warrior Princess wears a little eye shadow."

That was on page 274 of the paperbook. The book was copyrighted in 1998.

While not so wildly funny as the Janet Evanovich series, there are some great lines and moments in this series and the situations are not quite so unbelievable. This series is also not so "relentlessly het" as someone wrote me complainingly about the Evanovich one. There are important gay characters in a number of the books.

And as I suggested to my bud, to sweeten up the Evanovich series, just think of Ranger as a Xuber when you imagine "her"--it's a perfect characterization for any NUMBER of extant Xubers. And there ya go--instant alt fanfic.

That's what I LOVE about books--you get to be the casting director.

  • And Susan Malalrky's Obituary was forwarded by a fellow pup to her friend Ana.:

A local pup sent me Susan's obituary.

Weeks ago a few of you asked where to send any memorials. The obituary has that information. I know MaryD will be including it on her page in the near future. Susan was a trainer for Handi-Dogs.

Again, let me express my thanks and appreciations for all your words of support and comfort. As a pastor, I am usually the comforter. I am touched by your willingness to let me be the comfortee in this case.

    Ana (pastor pup)

  • Diane who helps with Xena Live II posted more info on the affair:

Ok, I've received many emails concerning this reading. I just want to CLARIFY that this is in fact, just a READING. No costumes, just script in hand reading through the first draft They will incorporate a couple songs into the reading. You will recognize everyone there. They have all played a part in Xena Live I or II at one point. The show has not been officially scheduled with dates. When that happens I will make sure to let you all know, I promise. There is only ONE scheduled reading for March 4th NOT the 11th as I posted earlier. There are only 70 seats in the space, so please call NOW if you want to be there. When you call the theatre, make sure you speak to a person regarding tickets. I am unsure if they announce readings on their outgoing messages. I will repost my January 27th post for the number. I hope this helps, if not please let me know.

There will be a workshop reading that is going to be open to the public on Tuesday, March 4th at the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Chicago. If you want information or tickets, please call the About Face Theatre at 773-784- 8565.

    Have a good evening everyone!

    February 4th

  • I was quite busy today, so I was only able to make a quick clip for Unchained Heart. I will try and do more tomorrow. Gotta love real life. Ok so the reason Unchained Heart makes me giggle more than Gauntlet is because I just can't buy Hercules and Xena being all googly eyed at each other. "AND" Xena's quick turnaround to good. Ah well the time contrainment excuse works though right? They needed to do it quick knowing there would be the Xena spin off series from Hercules. Good excuse Rob *wink*

  • A Xena DVD alert for all Canadians. Amazon.ca as of April 29, 2003 will be selling the Xena Season One DVDs for only $83.97 CDN. That is 30% off the usual price. I say it is about time! These DVDs are being privided by Anchor Bay so let's just hope they are better quality than the crap Davis Panzer had tried to pawn off on us!

  • And recently a fan posted this question to Josh Becker's website in regards to the mentioned upcoming 3-4 year coming Xena movie. Now remember this is just a "Rumour", but if it were to be ever reality, I know I would not go see the movie unless Lucy Lawless played Xena!!:

Josh There's a rumour circulating on some movie website that if Universal go ahead with a big screen version of XENA then they will only commit to the size of budget required if someone like Catherine Zeta Jones plays the leading role. Apparently the movie will not follow on from where the series ended but will essentially be a remake of the episodes "Callisto" and "Return of Callisto". Do you know if there is any truth in this?

Dear Archie: I'm sorry, I don't know a thing about it. As I watched Catherine Zeta-Jones in "Chicago," however, I kept thinking of Lucy -- looks-wise, that is. Quite frankly, though, I think Lucy has a lot more magnetism, and is just a better actor.
    Josh

    February 3rd

  • Today the Xenaverse lost a very special Xenite off the Nutbread and Merwolfpack list. Although I did not know her well I enjoyed reading her input and messages on the list. It still saddens me when any Xenite is lost. My condonlences go out to her family and friends..The following is words from her close friend Ana off the Nutbread Yahoogroups list..

Susan died this morning around 9:30 AM EST. Macy called me with the news around 1 PM EST. Her breathing became more and more labored around 1 AM. Macy did all she could with the morphine to keep the pain at bay. She died peacefully.

All I know right now is that there will be a get together Saturday. Macy asked if there were any pups living in the Tucson area or close by, you are welcome to come. I will talk to Macy probably later today or tomorrow and try to get more information.

We have lost a great woman, a faithful friend, an incredible soul. I will miss you, my friend.

  • I finished up The Gauntlet today. I still find it hard to beleive that Xena was reformed so easily and quick but...there was a time constrainment right? All and in though love the ep. I just love seeing Lucy become Xena and all the cool costumes and weapons. I plan on starting the final ep in the Hercules trilogy tomorrow, Unchained Heart. That ep makes me giggle more. I will let you know tomorrow why.

  • Deborah Abbott's Season Seven Fan Fiction Movie, "True Love Never Dies" will be shown at the Pasadena Xena Convention.

"Seven years after Xena's death, Gabrielle remains sickened by the loss of her soulmate. An unexpected reunion with the ghost of Xena may be the only thing that can help her turn her life around."

Deborah's and Wendy Woody's "Trip to New Zealand" movie will also be shown. These two gals visited all the locations of the television series they could find in NZ, and rode the chariots used during the production of Xena.

  • Many thanks to Matt Savelkoul for submitting the following information.

Anchor Bay will be releasing the Xena season by season boxed sets, I called them up and spoke with Mike Felsher, the Film Information Manager with Anchor Bay. He confirmed that the Anchor Bay DVD releases will be different than the Davis/Panzer mail order releases.

Unlike the D/P releases, these releases are sporting newly remastered transfers of each episode, including brand new Dolby 5.1 surround tracks and bonus features yet to be determined. He gave me an April 2003 release for Xena season 1 and a June 2003 release for Hercules season 1.

Anchor Bay is committed to presenting the show in the original aspect ratio. He said, in part: "We will be presenting the show in the original screen format whatever it may be. If the show legitimately went to 16x9 in future seasons, then that is what will be released to DVD."

Starting with Xena Season 3, episode 3 (since the first two eps of season 3 were shot during the tail end of season 2 and held over), this will be the first time ANYWHERE that the 16x9 widescreen version of the show will be available. (The worldwide sets put out by Universal in regions 2 and 4 were pan and scan, not widescreen.) (Thank you to Mesh and Mary D's Ausxip for this info!)

    February 2nd

  • I added four more clips for the ep The Gauntlet. I am sure I can finish the ep for tomorrow. I have to say I don't totally nor ever had I accepted the Herc reforming Xena spiel. But I remember seeing an interview where Rob Tapert did say it was weak story telling on their part. And Herc and Xena in the sack? Umm sorry it makes me giggle even today *L* All in all a good ep. Love the costumes as always! Nglia Dickson rulz!

  • WARRIORS ON TOUR: She may be best-known to millions as Xena the Warrior Princess. But actress Lucy Lawless, who recently undertook a 15-- date tour of New Zealand with local music icon Dave Dobbyn, says she has long been a frustrated singer. "I don't want to be kicking myself as an old lady, saying, 'I coulda, shoulda, woulda,'" she says. "It doesn't matter if I go down in flames, as long as I had a crack at it." Lawless joined Dobbyn on his annual tour over the Christmas and new year period, performing backup and singing lead on such covers as "Brass in Pocket" and "Oliver's Army." Dobbyn's profile is currently high in New Zealand, as his 1988 hit "Loyal" has become the anthem of the New Zealand America's Cup defenders. Several shows were recorded, and Dobbyn's management say that a live album is a possibility. Global music pulse. , Billboard, 02-01-2003, pp 55. (thanx to Mary D for the info!)

    February 1st

  • I want to send out my condonlences out to everyone really in regards to the Columbia Space Shuttle crashing today. But especially to the friends and families of the 7 man and woman crew. It is suspected it may be the heat tiles on the outer shuttle that may have come lose that may be the cause of the crash. Even though I never knew any of the astronauts it affects me and I am sure everyone. It simply is a sad affair that reminds us once again. Life is short and to live each day it is the last and be thankful for who and what we have.

  • Ok due to popular email request I decided to start putting up The Gauntlet. It does make sense since I just got The Warrior Princess up. It is a three ep arc. So I made two clips and will aim to get a couple more up tomorrow.

  • As well looks like in April of 2003 we can get the Season One DVDs for Xena at Anchor Bay instead of just XenaHercules.com. Many Xenites have complained about the bad quality of the Daniel Panzer DVDs so now we have three choices as Amazon.com as well will be offering the Season One DVDs in April as well! ABOUT TIME I SAY! Tired of the lack of quality and service with Daniel Panzer. Have ya noticed??? *L*

  • Mary D has a scan up from NW Magazine in which they mention how Lucy confirmed there would be a Xena movie. Now we know this was rumour. Sharon at Creation did though ask Rob Tapert if it was true. He did say maybe in 3-4 years and in the early stages. So we know one is coming. Not a bad scan. Has Lucy in a common but always beautiful Xena promo shot. Worth a look!

  • For all those Aussies out there! An exciting Oz Xena event is coming up!!

~ Win the Lucky Door prize - complete with hinges! (That's not true but I had to put something - I don't have the prize yet.) Win! Win! Win! the usual "fabulous" prizes (and we all know what that means, don't we?)

    When? Saturday, 22nd February
Where? Istvan's Café 298 Bronte Road, Waverley 2024, Australia

E-mail Sue Bonaretti to confirm your attendance or if you'd like any more convincing that this is one event you must not miss. (Pressure! Pressure!) Who knows? We just may have a "Special Guest" in attendance (We won't - this is just a come-on.)

Everything, except the food and drink, is free! (This is to appeal to your greed.)
