January 6, 2002 Kindred Events -A man named Alex Stone arrives in Elysium. He claims to have come to Guelph to aid one of his own. When asked what clan he claimed allegiance to, he simply said, "I reject the views of my clan, its ancients, and the core beliefs." No one has since bothered him. -Several wolves jumped a pair of young joggers. While normally this wouldn't be significant, this is not the first time that animals have been acting strangely. Major News Events -The public has been informed to be on the watch for several young men. They were responsible for several robberies this week, including the Manor and the International House of Tail. There has been a surprising amount of police involvement in this case. -A new virus has struck the internet, and it's causing billions of dollars in lost time. It is attached to email, and causes computers to randomly display pornographic web sites. Employers are furious, and techs are baffled as to how to find and remove it. January 13, 2002 Kindred Events -Isis entered Elysium, badly hurt. She claims to have been attacked by a host of wolves. The Primogen council met, and then ruled that Isis had violated the rules laid down by the Keeper. She was issued a warning; she could not enter the city for a period of two months. The scourge was charged with preventing her re-entry into the city, as well as escorting her out of it. Major News Events -Several new apartments are being put up throughout the city. They were all previously zoned as low-income housing. As they have been going up, all but one have been rezoned to commercial and mid to high-income housing. -A pair of religious fanatics attacked several prostitutes in a fit of rage following an awe-inspiring sermon. They claimed, as they died on their deathbeds, that their Avatar would come down, and strike away those who harmed them. January 20, 2002 Kindred Events -A young tough shot up Jordon McLeod this week. She was rushed to hospital from the North End, where Kintaro Drake went through the proper procedures to remove her from the situation. Additionally, the news report never actually made it to the Mercury; the reporter's apartment was broken into by a couple toughs who stole the reporter's computer, which contained the report and additional reporting that could have proven challenging to cover up. Major News Events -Statistics Canada has released a new study that reveals that crime is back on the upswing. After years of it being on the decline, the crime has spiked radically by 12% over last year. -The International House of Tail has received rave reviews in major adult magazines. This means that its patronage has increased, as have the church petitions calling for its removal from the city. One citizen went on record calling it "...a blight on the landscape." January 27 Kindred Events -Nicholas Savich was not at Elysium this week, though the rest of his clan was. When one was asked where their Primogen was, she simply said that he was engaged in other activities which demanded his full attention. -Mr. Stone arrived late to Elysium, noticeably tired. He merely walked over to a member of the Tremere clan and was overheard saying "You're tests are as potent as your blood youngling; do not tempt me again." He then stalked away from the meeting of Kindred. Major News Events -A group of angry students shut down the University of Guelph administration this week. They have not received any of the bursaries that they earned, and should have received last fall. -A convention of biologists was productive this week; during their conversations they learned that many of them were researching a similar method of combating cancers of the brain. A new corporation has been formed, called Mentex, Shrauld, and Trell. It will endeavour to eliminate brain cancer from the world by 2015. |
