Before I even begin this lesson, it is important that you realise one thing neonate, this story is not true, and is in fact a minor form of heresy amongst the other Camarilla clans. We teach it to you because it is important that you understand what makes the elders of the other five clans "tick" so that you can avoid their wrath and yet undermine their actions to benefit the pyramid. Now, your lesson for the month. Centuries ago, God created the world in six days, and on the seventh he rested. Now, during that time, he created a curious creature named Adam. This being desired a mate, so that he would not be alone and could copulate, much like you did not so long ago I would imagine. God then created another, weaker version of Adam called Eve. She was the first woman. Now, decades passed in this Garden that they dwelt in, and during this time Eve became entranced with one of the creatures in the paradise she shared with her master. The creature was the serpent. After many months of courting the woman, the serpent spoke to her (as all beasts could). It told her to eat some fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, and as she was very much in love with the serpent, she did so. Once she had consumed the last ounce of the delicious fruit, she gained incredible insight, including the fact that she was as capable in all tasks as her master, Adam. She approached Adam and insisted that she was actually superior, and that he would learn this as soon as he ate some of the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. He did so, and in fact learned that she was merely his equal in some things. In his rage to punish his slave that had lied to him, he broke of a branch from the ancient Tree and beat his slave with it. God, seeing that Adam had become violent, and hence an unperfected being, sent him and his slave, who had forced him to commit the act, into the lands of Nod. The master and his slave existed in Nod for many years, and in the course of their copulation, Eve bore Adam two sons, Cain and Able. Cain was a good man, who worked hard to till the earth and extract bountiful harvests to feed man and beast alike. He was a good, dutiful son that did all he could to regain God's graces. His brother, Able, was a barbaric creature, that wantonly killed beasts to feed himself and family. He tracked the beasts down and turned away from God's rule, that none on his earth shall be harmed. The two brothers continued in these ways for many years, until their father Adam, who had grown grey with age, wished for his sons to give their thanks to God, for all that the One Above had given them. The two offered their sacrifices. Abel offered the best lamb that he had, and God was pleased. When Cain gave his own offering to God, he offered the finest fruits and vegetables, and God was not pleased. He asked why he had been offered things grown in mere dirt, and then told Cain to be gone, for God was not pleased. Cain was desperate to regain his Father's good graces, and was willing to do anything to regain His favour. To accomplish this task he offered to God what was most dear to him; he offered up Abel, his only brother. God, when learning of this, sent a succession of angelic beings to confront Cain. They were to get Cain to beg God's forgiveness for the crime committed, but they failed in their tasks. The result of their failure is the vampiric condition. Upon receiving this curse, Caine (with an "e" now) left the land of Nod for an even more desolate place, away from the other mortals that Eve and Adam had had. |
