    “Yea, why?”
“A few years ago, one of their camp directors went missing.”  Byers explained.
“What do you mean, missing?”  Mulder asked.
“She was there one minute and the next she had vanished.  There have been various reports by different campers and councilors that say they’ve seen her in the woods.  Some people think she turned into a werewolf but, they’re just stories to scared the younger girls.”  Byers continued to explained.
     “That’s interesting.”  Mulder mumbled.
“Anyway, when are you coming back, Mulder.  We’re having a surfing night where the three of us are going on the net to see if we can pick up some chicks.  You should come for it.”  Frohike said.
“Sorry, guys I’m stuck here, wish I could be there.”  Mulder said.
“Suit yourself.  Good luck on solving the case.  Oh, and tell Scully I’ll be waiting for her return.”  Frohike said.
“Will do.”  Mulder said, turning off the screen.

Scully rolled over as a bright ray of light shone in her eyes.  She opened them slightly and noticed someone inside her room, opening the blinds.  She sat up, wondering what was going on.
“Mulder, what are you doing?”  She asked.  Mulder turned to her and took a seat on a chair.  “What time is it?”
“It’s about eleven.”  Mulder answered.  “I thought you were going to sleep all day.”
“I’m sorry.”  She apologized.  Mulder handed her a steaming hot cup of coffee.  She took it in her hands and took a long sip.  She looked out the window and noticed something strange.  “Mulder, did you go anywhere last night or this morning?”
“Yea, how could you tell?”  Mulder asked.
“I saw a car last night park in the space that you’re now in.  Where did you go?”  She wondered taking another sip of coffee.
“I went to go talk to the Lonegunman this morning through this new high-tech machine thing.”  Mulder explained.
“What did they have to say?”
“Besides the fact that Frohike was slobbering all over you and the fact that we were in a Girl Scout camp, not much.  Byers did tell me, though, that an old director of the camp disappeared one day and has never been heard from since.  Rumors have it that she’s been living in the woods.”
“And that’s why they call them rumors.”  Scully said, smiling.  “Anyway, the specialist is coming down from DC to autopsy the girls brain today.  I’m going to go down to the morgue and see if I can get in the way.”
“I’m going to see if I can find any more information on that woman who disappeared.”  Mulder said.  he noticed Scully giving him a sympathetic look as she crawled out of bed.  “Just out of curiosity of course.”
                                                                                           *     *     *     *
Two hours later, Scully was again suited up in preparation for an autopsy, but she wouldn’t be performing it.  Scully stared at the poor girl who was lying on the table before her.  Eileen’s parents were the only ones who would allow for the autopsy of the brain.  She felt for the parents of the girl as well as for the many campers who had no idea what was going on.  Would they be more prone to death since they didn’t know about the murderer or was it for the best to not tell anyone?  Scully was unsure what to do.  As much as she needed the weekend to organize herself, she also wanted the case to be solved as soon as possible.
“Dr. Scully, I presume?”  A man said, walking into the autopsy bay.  He, too, had the same outfit that Scully had on.
“Yes.”  Scully responded, snapping back to reality.
“I’m Dr. Taylor, I’ll be performing the autopsy, we spoke on the phone.”  The man said, realizing that Scully wasn’t paying much attention.
“Yes, hi.”  Scully said shaking the man’s hand.  He was a younger man, probably in his early thirties.  His grasp was strong, and as if he didn’t have a care in the world.  Did he not care that he was about to pull out a girl’s brain, Scully wondered to herself?  “I hope you don’t mind me sticking around.”
“No, of course not, the more the merrier.”  He said.  He walked to the side of the girl and pulled a pair of latex gloves over his hands.  He picked up a power saw and began cutting into the girl’s head.  Scully tried not to be disgusted by what the man was doing.  The blood wasn’t what got to her but instead it was what the girls must have been feeling right before she died.
Two hours later, Scully was still watching the man perform the autopsy.  There was no sign of rabies but the man wanted to check other things to make sure the girl was healthy before she died.  Scully looked down at her watch, and sighed.  She perked up when she heard someone knocking on the door.  She looked, and was relieved when she saw it was Mulder.  She wanted and needed to get out of the stale room.
“Excuse me.”  Scully said to the doctor.  She walked out of the room and met Mulder outside.
“So, are you getting in the way?”  Mulder asked, leaning against the wall.
“I think if I spend another minute in there, I’m going to kill someone.”  Scully said.
     “Did you find anything?”
“No rabies, if that’s what you’re wondering.  Mulder, I can’t find what killed this girl and whether Dr. Taylor is able to admit it or not, he can’t either.”  Scully confessed.  “Did you find anything on that camp director?”
“I thought you didn’t think that was connected.”  Mulder said, sounding surprised.
“I don’t, but there doesn’t seem like there’s much else to do right now.”
“Well, I looked up a few things and I talked to some people but no one knows what happened to her.  Her name was Jane Bowman and she was the co-director of the camp for six years.  Last year, she said she wasn’t feeling well and she ran into the woods.  No one ever saw her since.  They searched the woods for weeks but no one could ever find her or a body.  A lot of folks believe she’s cursed and is living in the woods.”  Mulder explained.
“But it’s a lot more plausible to say that she either died or ran away out of the state or even the country.  What about her family, can we talk to any of them?”
Mulder shook his head.  “Her entire family is dead from an unknown virus that spread throughout all of their bodies.  The coroner who autopsied one of the bodies thinks it was a hereditary disease.”
“Mulder, the only thing that I can suggest is for us to wait until Monday to talk to Trinity and Piper separate and then sleep over Tuesday night.  There’s nothing more that we can do except to wait.”  Scully said.
Mulder nodded in agreement.  They both left the autopsy bay and went in their own directions.

Chapter 6
9:14 A.M.
July 20, 1998
Camp Kowena

Mulder made his way up the large hill.  The path was becoming very familiar to him now.  It was as if he had been there all his life.  The only thing that he hoped was he wouldn’t be there for too much longer.  He liked the company of Trinity and Piper but he didn’t want anyone else to die.
Scully walked in front of Mulder and looked around.  The flag ceremony must have already broken up.  Scully looked to her left and saw two older girls at the latrine.  They stared at the two strangers and Scully realized she wasn’t wearing her camp tie.  She pulled it out of her pocket and slipped it around her neck.  Mulder did the same.
“Excuse me.”  Scully called to the two girls.  After seeing the camp ties, the girls walked closer to the two agents.  They kept their distance, unsure of who they were.  “Where are you girls from?”
     “Woodston.”  One of them responded.
“Is Trinity Fyrer and Piper Alexander here today?”  Mulder asked.
“Sure.  Trinity, Piper, and I are really good friends.”  One of the girls said.  “Oh…you two are the two FBI Agents, aren’t you?”
“Yea, Agents Scully and Mulder.”  Scully said.  “Do you know where Trinity and Piper are?”
“They’re at the unit.”  The girl said.  “Do you want us to show you the way?”
“No, we know where it is.  Thank you.”  Mulder said.  The two girls walked back towards the latrine.  One of them picked up a large broom while the other picked up a scrub brush.
Mulder and Scully made their way down to Woodston.  They entered the unit and noticed Piper draping a towel over the clothesline.  Trinity was sitting with three other girls, in a circle on the ground, discussing something.
When Trinity saw Mulder she stood up an excused herself from the group of girls.  Trinity walked over to Piper and touched her shoulder.  Piper finished hanging up her bathing suit and the two of them walked towards Mulder and Scully.
“Girls, we’d like to ask you some additional questions.  This time about Jill and Eileen’s murder.”  Scully said.
     “Okay.”  Piper and Trinity answered.
They began walking towards the road.  Mulder tapped Piper on the shoulder, while Scully touched Trinity.
“Separately.”  Mulder said.  “Piper you can come with me.  And Trinity you can go with Agent Scully.”
