Major Nanaki

He was a member of Colonel Bunto's forces in former China, and was probably his advisor and second-in-command. After the coup in China, Bunto of the Alliance took control of the country and ruled it with an iron grip, with a fairly large military to keep things in line. He also had a couple of Early Model Leos and one of the pilots was Major Nanaki. After a raid by local guerillas, Nanaki goes after them with three leos, and traps them on a hill. However, before he could capture them, he encountered a unexpected enemy, a Gundam. The Gundam Shenlong, piloted by a depressed Wufei, gives Nanaki and his fellow comrades a chance to escape, but they continue firing at the Gundam, without any effect. Then finally, Wufei disposes of Nanaki's men, and Nanaki escapes in a badly damaged Leo, enraged. Nanaki reports back immediatly of the Gundam threat to Colonel Bunto, and Bunto, hearing this, thinks about letting OZ join them in an effort to destory the Gundam menance. However, Nanaki disagreed, saying that they had to protect the people themselves, to show them that they are the ones in control. And also, he said that if OZ had a chance to step into their country, they would try to take over. Bunto agreed reluctantly with the plan, but obviously had something in the back of his head...

The next night when Bunto's forces attacked the guerillas, everything went according to plan, but then a couple of OZ's Aries showed up and started destorying Bunto's forces. Nanaki was wondering what was going on when Bunto informed him that a "coup" had taken place among his men and that OZ was coming to take over, but still keeping him as the leader. Appearantly, he had worked out a deal without telling the rest of his men, and that they were fighting OZ. Nanaki was enraged, and said, "Colonel Bunto, can't you think of anything other than your own rank?!?!!" Then, like the others, he was vaporized by an Aries.
