XXXG-01SRII Gundam Sandrock Kai (OAV Version)

The Hajime Katoki version of the Sandrock Kai, like the Heavyarms Kai, was done superbly. The Sandrock Kai, in my opinon, is even better than the original! The two infamous Heat Shorters are still there, although the Heat Shorters in the OAV are a lot bigger than the original. And it seems that the OAV version can still make a Cross Crusher. The shield for the Cross Crusher comes with the 1/144 scale model kit, but it's not seen in the OAV. It's also a mystery where the Sandrock Kai keeps it's shield, if it is there. Also, it seems to have lost it's homing missiles, or can those things on it's shoulders house them? It could be a place to house the homing missiles, but it sure looks a lot like Deathscythe's Hyper Jammers! (Maybe Hajime Katoki got confused... ^_^) Also, it's body has been redsigned quite a bit to give it a sleeker look than the bulky MS in the TV series.

The Sandrock Kai, like the other Gundams except for the Altron were supposed to be disposed in the Sun. However, with the uprising of the Mariemeia Army, the Gundams were needed again. Quatre rushes to the natural resource satillite to retrive them, and he makes it just in time. Then the Sandrock Kai, along with the other Gundams, fight the Mariemeia Army on Earth. It's then destoryed after the OAV.
