| Under false pretenses, Bobby entered Project Genesis, a program designed to create a super team for I.O. (International Operations). Bobby and teammates Fairchild, and Freefall attempted to escape, where his powers first manifested. In the end, it was then-Director of I.O. John Lynch who managed to save the team. During the "Fire From Heaven" conflict, Corona learned that Lynch is his father. This discovery has made their current relationship awkward. Corona has some strong feelings towards teammate and friend Freefall which have gone largely unreciprocated.
