magical abilities are far more limited in Earth's dimension. However, her magical powers on Earth are primarily limited to the use of her Soulsword, which is the ultimate embodiment of her mystical might.
Weapons: The Soulsword and mystical shoulder and arm armor which manifests every time she wields the weapon. The Soulsword will have no physical effect on a non-supernatural creature; it will pass right through such a creature as if it were intangible. However, the sword can release a nonsupernatural being from any magical spell that it is under. Moreover, it can physically injure and even kill a supernatural being such as a demon; including vampires.
History: Illyana is the sweet "snow flake" of her big brother, Piotr who left their home at the Ust-Ordynski collective farm in Siberia to become Colossus, one of the team of mutant adventurers called the X-Men. A few years later Illyana left the Soviet Union to join him and became a student at the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters at the age of 15.
However, after about year abroad, she became home sick and journeyed back to Russia to visit her other brother Mikhail where she was abducted from our world by the demon sorcerer Belasco. She was taken to his realm of Limbo, where for 4 years she trained in the black arts as his disciple. There she saw Limbo's versions of the X-Men die, some at her hand, although she had become quite close with Storm, who tried to teach her white magic to help her oppose Belasco.
Illyana created a Soulsword for herself, which was the ultimate expression of her power. Using it, she overthrew Belasco, took control of Limbo, and using her mutant power to access time and space through Limbo, generated a "stepping disk" to take her home. However, while Illyana had aged 4 years in Limbo, on Earth, only a few months had passed and the experience has left her memories jumbled. Confused and disoriented she has made her way back to the Xavier Institute and the security of her big brother Colossus. |
