A byproduct of his ability is sensing when powers have been used and the power residue left on people or objects and helps prevent him from accidentally triggering his own power. He also uses this like a bloodhound to hunt down and track mutants. Due to his powers becoming stronger, he can for a short time power up this ability to allow him to detect mutants on a global scale. This power however is dangerous as it quickly burns out his nervous system.
Also, he can borrow skills from objects by locking on to the imprints of the emotions and feelings left on the object by it's user (ie: borrowing the ability to paint from a brush). This power only works on physical skills and not on complex mental abilities like hacking or surgery. Skills require far less energy to maintain and unlike powers stay for hours at a time.
Special Limitations: Due to his connection to the ebb and flow of empathic and telepathic energies, which his power uses, Drew has almost no resistance to psionic powers.
History: At age 15, Drew's powers (Nemesis Force) manifested for the first time during a fight with a local bully (also a mutant) in which Drew killed him. He later ran away from home and was adopted by a band of mutants that fought in illegal underground tournaments. With his unique power, he quickly rose to the status of champion of the American circuit. During a match in Canada, Drew lost a cage fight to the legendary Wolverine prior to him becoming an X-Man. Hearing rumors in the underground leagues of a group called the X-Men; Drew started to hunt them for the chance to fight true warriors while looking for a rematch with Wolverine.
His journey took him to Salem Center where he sensed Shadowcat out on a date with Thor. When he became aggressive in his Nemesis generated bloodlust for combat, Thor gave him pause that someone with super powers was not a mutant. They fled the crazed man and Drew chased them back to Xavier's School. There he finally succumbed to his many wounds and injuries from his random fights. The team took him in and were able to help him deal with his split in personality.
During a chance encounter in the Danger Room, Drew discovered he could touch Rogue without harm and the two shared a moment of passion. It seems they are somehow able to cancel out or reboot each other's powers.
Not too long after this discovery, Sinister managed to capture Drew and with the use of a telepathic ally, he brought out the Nemesis personality to its fullest; turning the X-Man into a Marauder. Sinister further implanted Drew with a symbiotic creation that tripled his powers. Nemesis later attacked Salem Center, destroying part of the town's hospital and the entire police station, killing hundreds of people.
Upon his capture by his former teammates, a pre-programmed mental suggestion wiped his mind of both personalities, leaving him in a coma. When he woke up, he discovered that he had a life he knew nothing about and powers he barely understood. Now he struggles to rebuild his life and come to terms with the life he's told is his and the life he now wants. |
