History: Violet left home at the age of 12 when her parents kicked her 17 year old sister, Heather, out because she was a mutant. Heather's blood had some how transformed to a sort of chloarphyl plasma, leaving the girl with green hair and green tinted skin. Violet, rather than living at home with her narrow minded parents, decided to escape with her sister. Heather agreed to this only when Violet showed her what she had discovered about her own innate abilties weeks before.
For two years, the girls lived in various shelters or as squatters in any vacant building they could find, no matter what the condition. During this time, Violet used her gifts to disguise Heather's appearance so they could blend in with the rest of the homeless and vagrants to avoid any unwanted attention. But one night as they slept in an abandoned wharehouse, Violet awoke with a start to her sister's screams. A group of boys had gotten drunk and went looking in squatterville to cause trouble. One of the boys grabbed hold of Violet and roughly dragged her from the second story of the wharehouse while the rest of the group surrounded Heather.
As Violet was being dragged, she listened to her sister's pleas for help. Her only thought was to save her older sibling, so she removed the illusion she had tied to the necklace around her neck, hoping Heather's true form would make her less desirable to the boys. Instead, Violet heard the boys' cries of "mutie freak" and her sister's screams frantically calling out her name.
Violet found her sister's body when she came too some hours later; beaten, ravaged and hanging from the ceiling. The image is forever burned into Violet's memory and is one of the main reasons she is with the MLF; to avenge the needless death of her sister who was always a kind and compassionate soul. Some of the pain has faded away with time, but it always remains, lurking just beneath the surface. |
