In the mean time, the three fairies discover that they cannot make a fancy cake or a beautiful dress without their magic.  So, they take out their wands a day early.  Flora and Fauna get into a fight over what color the dress should be.

While the fairies thought that they had locked all the doors and closed all the windows so that no one could find them doing magic, the fight results in pink and blue rays of color spitting out of the fireplace just as Maleficent's pet raven flies by.

Just then, Briar Rose comes home, so happy because she is in love.  When the fairies find out she has fallen in love with a boy in the woods, they tell her that she is actually a betrothed princess.  Her happiness is destroyed, and she runs up to her room crying.  The raven flies off to tell Maleficent about Princess Aurora and her newly found love.

Later that night, the fairies lead a downhearted Aurora back to her castle.  When she gets into her room, she breaks into tears, and the fairies leave her alone for a while. Maleficent casts a spell on the princess, drawing her near to a green light in the fireplace.  The fireplace disappears, becoming a staircase.  At the top of the staircase is a room with a spindle.  The princess, drawn to the needle of the spindle, touches it and falls into a deep sleep

The fairies find the princess and bring her back to her room to await love's first kiss.

They use their magic to put the rest of the castle to sleep, not to awaken until the princess does.

Prince Phillip, who was supposed to meet Briar Rose in her cottage later that night arrives, but Maleficent is waiting to catch Aurora's love.  She hauls him off to her lair to be imprisoned for the next 100 years.  Only then will she set him free to save Aurora.

Maleficent and her cronies celebrate that they have won.

But while the fairies are putting Phillip's father to sleep, he is trying to tell Aurora's father that Phillip want to marry a peasant girl that he met Once Upon A Dream.  So, the fairies set off to Maleficent's lair to help the prince break free.  They break him out of the dungeon, but Maleficent turns herself into a huge dragon to stop them:

Now, you shall deal with me, o prince and all the powers of hell!

A great battle ensues between the prince and the dragon.

Luckily, the prince is armed with a shield of virtue and sword of truth thanks to the three fairies.  When the shield escapes his grasp, Phillip has but one choice to throw the sword at Maleficent.

The dragon collapses to its death with a shriek.

Prince Phillip travels to Aurora's castle to awaken her with love's first kiss.

And they lived happily ever after.
