| 5 Impetus Morrigan was early and seen me asleep. She looked over to my neighbor, went over to him and woke him gently. He was groggy until he seen who was woke him. "Thank you, Donovan. I found out something." "Is it good?" "Yes. She's in Canada. She's wrapping up a project and will be here in a few days to see you. She wanted me to tell you something..." Morrigan whispered in his ear...he smiled and closed his eyes, and remembered. Morrigan left him to sleep. With out all the distractions now With out all the heavy hearts, I hear a Celtic lullaby, & the place where I take part. I recognize the softness of Your skin... The shirt you wear... The place I want to be locked in. After I drink the good water, And hear that beautiful song, I try to think what you dream about... Force myself inside, Need to give you that sense of pleasure Change that nightmare tide. Show you You're not alone, Give you a smile, I'll arrange a hug And seek a kiss... And another...Kiss... Kiss... Kiss. Kiss? I felt a kiss... I slowly opened my eyes. Morrigan's lips were firmly pressed against mine. She pulled away and smiled. "Hi." She whispered. "Hi. How long have I been out?" "About two hours. I was going to let you sleep longer, but I couldn't resist. Hope you didn't mind your wake up call." "No. Not at all. Pleasant surprise. I'm... I'm sorry for kicking you out." "It's not your fault. Jarod, I know you are freaking out about how I filled out the forms and know all this stuff about you. That's nothing to me. I want to know who you are. I want to take you out of here and care for you myself-" "But why?" I thought Morrigan could at least give me that, "Look at you. You are this, this incredible being. Can you sense why I'm suspicious? I have nothing I could possibly offer, You seen my TRW right? This is why I am confused." "Maybe I'm the one who has something to offer. You see, you too, are this incredible being. I can see that. I am able to see the things you are capable of. It's time that you do as well. I can show you these things. I can make you remember. Please, let me help you. I can do so much more than you can imagine, and I want to do more because, don't take this away, I partly feel responsible for the condition you are in." "So, you believe in fate?" "No... But-" "Then how can you feel responsible? Because when I was hit, I was looking for you so I could give you back the book and pens? I was being a paranoid idiot. Because I wanted nothing to do with another female again and there you were. I figured something was going on between you and Miri, and I was suspicious. I know now I could have kissed you and learned the truth right away. There is a reason why this happened, I have accepted that. And I know what happened between you and Miri. I don't know all the details of what was said, but you took care of it. You know of the restraining order and the divorce, but you're still here. I am the poster child of a bad example, and you are still here. Will I get some type of clarification for this? Will you kiss me again?" Morrigan smiled. "Let me give you a great idea..." She kissed me again. I was still in disbelief, but a kiss was better than pain. I kissed her in return and felt her soft lips. They spoke to me before, but this time I listened. That was the last time I had any doubts about Morrigan. Physical therapy was a slow, sometimes painful process. But with Morrigan nearby, it was all-worthwhile. I woke up one morning, and the old man was gone. His bed was empty and turned. I didn't know what happened to him and I was too afraid to ask the nurse. He was looking pretty bad... About twenty-five days later, I was released from the hospital under certain conditions. PT three times a week, and a part time nurse. I still was in a chair, So Morrigan rented out a wider place so I could get around. I protested, but Morrigan had already made up her mind. She showed me my new room, for the time being, and with no leg to stand on, literally, I gladly accepted. It was a nice place after all, and she left me dumfounded with all these niceties. I didn't question it anymore though. I just began to accept it. After three months, the feeling returned in my arm; at six months I had the cast off my leg. That's when Morrigan typed a two-week letter for my job, which explained I am going to pursue other interests. As I read the two-week, a question popped up. "Hold on. What interests are these?" I sat down. She handed him the same book and pens she has given to him twice before. "You want me to write? That's it? How am I... This means you are taking care of all the bills? I can't have you do that! I'm-" "I insist. I know you've always worked, and you still will. This is what I want you to start with." She pointed at the book, "Here, let me help you start. Describe this:" Morrigan leaned over and kissed him slowly. When she was done, She was the one who asked the question... "That help?" <---Previous Next---> |
