Q: Where are you located? |
|
A: We are located in the western part of North Carolina in
what is known as the piedmonts, about an hour's drive north/northwest
of Charlotte. You can learn more about our farm under the "our
farm" section of this site. |
Q: Do you sell hens? |
|
A: Yes. Most of the time, whenever we have roosters for sale,
we will also have hens available. |
Q: Do you ship birds to other countries
(export)? |
|
A: Unfortunately, not at this time. Due to health concerns
related to the bird flu crisis, we are currently not exporting
our birds. |
Q: Do you sell eggs? |
|
A: Unfortunately, no. We only get a very limited number of
eggs from our birds each year, so we cannot afford to sell eggs
or chicks. |
Q: How much do you sell your birds for?
|
|
A: The prices for our birds vary greatly from time to time
and depending on many conditions. Please contact us at xyoojaviaries@yahoo.com
to get the most current pricing and availability. |
Q: Do you ship birds? |
|
A: Yes, we ship to all 48 contiguous states of the U.S. We
do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. The state of Hawaii has strict
laws regarding the importation of fowl, while Alaska is far
too cold for these birds. |
Q: How long will it take for the birds
to arrive after they are shipped? |
|
A: Your birds will arrive next day, or 2nd day at the latest.
We ship Monday through Wednesday, and sometimes Thursday. We
never ship on Fridays because there is a high chance the birds
will get stranded enroute over the weekend. Weather conditions
may delay shipment of birds. Extreme heat and cold may prevent
us from shipping. Rain may also prevent us from shipping because
of the risks of getting the shipping box wet. |
Q: Do you have other breeds besides thais? |
|
A: Yes. Besides thais, we also have pama, brazilians, and
other breeds. However, we only keep a small number of them. |
Q: Can I visit your farm? |
|
A: It depends. Our friends and relatives, as well as close
acquaintances, may visit our farm at any time. However, for
others, special consideration will have to be made and visitations
are very limited. We typically will not allow visits by those
we are not fully acquainted with. |
Q: What payment methods do you accept? |
|
A: We prefer money order, but will also accept cashier's check.
You can get a money order from your local post office and you
can get a cashier's check from your local bank. Other payment
arrangements may also be available. |
Q: Some hatcheries offer thai game fowl
fertilized eggs and chicks. Are they any good? |
|
A: We cannot say one way or another about the quality of the
thai game fowl that are available from bulk hatcheries, since
we do not know the details behind their breeding programs or
their breeder stocks and since we have never acquired any thai
game fowl from hatcheries. Our best advice is that you should
ask to see actual pictures of some of the adult birds, either
the parent stock or some of the adult offspring, to make sure
they are what you are looking for before purchasing any eggs
or chicks. |
