Lord
of the Rings
At my Family Medicine
residency program, In His IMAGE, we
have a summer retreat each summer. It is
a time for relaxation, fellowship, and celebration. We celebrate the graduation of 3rd
year residents, the second year resident’s finishing
of their research project, and the end of the 1rst year resident’s internship
year (which is by far the most difficult year).
As tradition goes, the intern year class puts together skits for the
enjoyment of the rest of the residents, attendings, alumni, guests, families,
and friends.
When we put on our show of
skits, we had several live skits in addition to some pre-made skits, filmed as
a movie. We created 5 short movie skits
based on the Lord of the Rings. In it, the interns (first year residents) are
the hobbits. The ‘rings’ are the dreaded
pagers we are bound to. Metrocall is the infamous wireless
pager service we use (as do most physicians).
Here, I share with you our
production - I hope you enjoy! (Right
