Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble

with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Dear Family and Friends,

My internship last year proved to be an extremely difficult time for me.  It was a testing of my faith, and “happened that I might not rely on myself, but on God, who raises the dead”. (2 Corinthians 1:9).  Now, I can’t but help to testify even more to God’s faithfulness, and speak even more boldly about His comfort – even as He comforted me as I suffered through such simple troubles.

I call my troubles simple, especially as I reflect upon the sufferings of others in this world.  Even more so do my ‘troubles’ become insignificant as I reflect and meditate upon the sufferings of Jesus Christ.  That He loved the world so much that He came and willingly suffered so greatly - and even died in the place of sinners – is such good news, that I am compelled once again by His love to go and share this Gospel on a medical mission trip.

This time, I am blessed with the opportunity to go to Kabul, Afghanistan for the month of March and work with fulltime missionary doctor, Tim Fader, who is busy building and developing a hospital and clinic practice.  Afghanistan is war-torn country that is 99% Muslim and has some of the greatest medical need in the world.  It has the highest maternal mortality of any country in the entire world and the fourth highest infant mortality rate.  Very recently, God has provided an open door for medical missionaries to enter the country and minister and share the love of Christ.  It is a very exciting opportunity, and a great blessing to part of what He is doing at this time in the world.

If you would like to join me in this labor, please consider joining my prayer support team.  This would involve a commitment of praying daily for me, the team, and the people of Afghanistan throughout the month of March.  If so, please reply to this email as soon as possible.  I have been blessed with financial support from Christian Medical and Dental Association, Southwestern Medical Clinic, and my residency program, In His Image.  However, I still have $1700 left to raise in financial support.  If you feel led to support this mission financially, please make an online donation (Write “Chad Moore - Afghanistan” in the comments section) or send a check to:

Grace and peace in Christ,

Chad

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
