Inattention : Easily distracted, forgets instructions, switches from task to taks, finds 1-2-1 settings easier than group. Impulsivity : Actions have to be done, think of a trafic light, it goes RED - AMBER - GREEN but if it had ADHD it would go RED - GREEN. Or there is no prevention to a cure, has to be done, no STOP before thinking. Overactivity : Fidgety and restless, tapping feet against floor, pens from on to off, ants in your pants! Instatiability : Never satisfied, nothing is enough, almost stuborn as when get something in your mind and you know your right you wont back down Social Clumsiness : Social settings are hard as appropriateness of actions are not seen Poor Co ordination : Clumsiness, fine motor skills are hard, so when it comes to hand writting many ADHDers are like doctors, or ridign a bike is hard, holding knives and forks etc Disorganisation : All I can say is your fortunate you haven't had the misfortune of visiting my home, evedrything is everywhere, even once sorted and prestine within minutes is a tornado of destruction and litter. When it comes to getting out the door I am a nightmare, have I got what I need? Have I shut the windows? Turned off lights? Got dressed? etc variability : A good morning doesn't always equate to a good afternoon, there is often no trigger just shifts that become illogical and the more you try and understand the more frustrated you become Co Morbidities : Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Aspergers are often alongside (see comorbidities page) |
