Saddam Hussein is a brutal, murderous thug. And perhaps he deserves whatever fate awaits him. However, to avenge the deaths of 3,000 innocent people, the United States has killed scores of thousands of innocent Iraqis, and more than 1,000 U.S. military personnel have died. Iraq has been turned into a recruiting poster for al-Qaida. The USA has destabilized an area that could not have been more volatile, and the American economy has been ruined in the process. If the U.S. Congress is ever to regain its honor, it must impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney. |
