RE: Thank You Note for Acupuncture Well Performed
In May of 1992 I had signs of heart attacks. Local doctors were trying to help me without results. In September 1992 I spent three unsuccessful weeks in the Mayo Clinic. My left side chest and arm were getting more painful. By Thanksgiving I was unable to use my left hand to feed myself.
At the Swedish Covenant Hospital more tests were done. Dr. Nequin sent me to Dr. Goldflies because of my bad frozen shoulder. At Dr. Goldflies' office I was informed that aside from conventional physical therapy I could also have acupuncture from Betty Yates. Since my arm was almost totally stiff I was at the point trying anything. Sure, I was thinking the needles will hurt, not knowing enough about the old method from China. However, I found out that those needles do not hurt at all.
After my first acupuncture treatment in December 1992 I knew that I was finally on the right track. I am getting the needle treatments three times a week along with my regular physical therapy. It is amazing how much acupuncture has helped me.
To those people who only know that needles will hurt, I would like to tell that a painless needle sting can make comforting healing. It is an old saying, "Live and Learn." Too bad I did not know enough about acupuncture before I went to the Mayo Clinic.
I am very grateful for all the treatments I have received from Betty Yates. I can only say, "Thanks for a job well done!"

I want you to know how pleased I am with your acupuncture treatments for my chronic back problems. Before I agreed to try acupuncture, I had tried physical therapy, chiropractic therapy and medication. The pain and immobility finally led me to your doorstep (as a last resort). After the first treatment, I could walk without pain! Acupuncture gave me more relief than all the other treatments. I was surprised by the continued progress I made with your help.
I was equally impressed by your professional manner. You answered all my questions ------ anticipated some of these before I asked, and explained every procedure.
Betty, as you know, I was glad to recommend you to several friends. I stress that they start treatment before their conditions become chronic. I wish I had started sooner.

Betty V. Yates has been treating me weekly since October of 1992. I was suffering with numbness in my right hand and fingers; pain in my neck with stiffness; pain in my right shoulder, upper and lower back, and right arm; severe TMJ pain (which has existed for over 20 years); and debilitating headaches stemming from the neck, back and TMJ pain. Except for the TMJ problem, the related pain was as result of an automobile accident in September of 1991.
I now have little pain in my neck; no pain in my shoulder, arm, and back; no numbness, and remarkably no TMJ pain, also.
I had had conventional treatment, consisting of therapy, ultrasound, and medication, which did help, but did not give me the relief I have had with this acupuncture treatment. I have also had biffed-back and other acupuncture treatment with other practioners, which have been much more painful and uncomfortable, and therefore not very successful.
