"When I was little I had this idea that life could be perfect. That if you were careful enough, you'd never make a mistake, never be lonely, never be misunderstood, never be frightened, but it doesn't work that way. Life is big and messy, and you just have to climb in it with your boots on and hope for the best." [Young Americans]
"When exactly we go from kids, to people I'm not certain…I do know that it's not about turning a certain age or graduating from school, it happens when you're not paying attention. We go from playing with our friends, to playing with our friends' feelings. Without our knowledge or consent childhood slips away into the night and our innocence escapes us, and we wake up one morning to find that…we have become…who we are." [Young Americans]
And so our adventure ends, and some of us found our heroes and some of us conquered our fears, and one might even say we've triumphed. I'm not sure if it happened that day or that summer but somehow, we all felt older and different. I knew I'd never forget any of it and I decided I wasn't going to let it end because I realized, we're not just given life experience, we're given the experience of life. [Young Americans]
"You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else" [Fight Club]

Quotes Times Two
I've always tried not to make my pages just teeny-bopper pages with shout outs, lyrics and stupid, immature things, which quotes are usually considered. These actually mean something and make you think,so as far as I'm concerned, they're good.

"Sometimes it feels like we're all living in some kind of prison, and the crime is how much we hate ourselves. And it's good to get dressed up every once in awhile and admit the truth. That when you look really closely, people are so strange and so complicated that they're actually beautiful. Possibly even me." [My So-Called Life]
You asked me to write an essay telling you what I have to say and what I realized is that I've been ordered to listen for my whole life. But now I know it's my time to speak. What I figured out is that I've always seen myself as others saw me: the poor kid, the smart kid. I've known the comfort of my mother's arms, and the violence of my father's disappointment. Everyone encounters obstacles. The trick is to discover the opportunities within them. I've learned that every day we create who we are by what we do and what we think and how we act. So now that its my turn to speak, I just hope I have something to say, and I'm going to set my expectations high and one day I'll exceed them. [Young Americans]
