In 1963, Bruce Sperow and his wife Ruth purchased the farm.  Mrs. Sperow remembers discussing the house with Bruce's dad.  She was considering restoring the house.

Bruce and his father were builders.  Her father-in-law took a look at the house, Ruth remembers, and said, "I'll help you build a brand new house, but I'm not lifting a finger to work on that house.  You ought to take a match to it."

So, the Sperows built a lovely new home at the opposite end of the farm, and for many years raised farm animals and crops here.

The Hughes-Cunningham house, which was nearing 200 years of age, was home to a series of workers who helped the Sperows with the farm.  Then, in 1971, the house and 4 acres were sold to Mary L. Church.

In more recent years the Sperows have developed much of the original farm into a residential development.
