EGYPT
CAIRO
Lonely Planet says, Cairo is Egypt.  I don't know how true this is.  It is a massive city with noise, pollution, traffic jam, over-crowdedness and chaos like every other big city.  But it is also dynamic and full of life.  Indeed, Cairo is quite different from the other cities of Egypt, but I look upon it as my home.  It was the first city I visited in Egypt, and I returned to it over and again after Alexandria and Bahariyya.  Every time I was happy to return, just like going back home.

My first impression of Cairo started along the Nile, on the island of Gezira.  When I saw these young girls practising weight-lifting in such a fashion by the roadside, I immediately fell in love with the city, the country and its people.
