Will Saddam Hussein Survive the War?

During the Professional Yijing Divination Seminar at Feng Shui Research Center, we did a divination for Saddam Hussein.

Date of divination: Mar 29, 2003 (Gui Wei year, Yi Mao month, Xin Chou day).

Void: Chen, Si.

Question: How is Saddam Hussein affected by the war?

The hexagram we get is the Kan Palace Wandering Spirit Gua: Earth on Fire (Ming Yi) with the second and fourth lines moving.

The Subject line represents Saddam Hussein.

The Object line represents the Coalition forces.

The Spirit of Focus (Yong Shen) is Officer/Ghost as the divination is about war. There are two Officer/Ghost lines and both are moving. We select the Subject line to be the Spirit of Focus.

Interpretation:

[1] We first compare the strengths of the Subject and Object.

Object Mao wood is vibrant in Mao month while the Subject Chou earth is weak. Subject Chou earth is the same as the day branch. This makes the Subject Chou momentarily stronger than Mao. It indicates that the Coalition will suffer losses in the beginning but in the long run, Saddam will be defeated.

[2] The Object controls the Subject meaning that the Coalition wants to attack and destroy Saddam. Since the Subject is moving, it takes action against the invasion.

[3] Object is the Tiger which is fierce. Subject is the Bird which is controversial and argumentative.

[4] The Subject line moves to change to fire which is beneficial to the Subject and unfavorable to the Object. This indicates that Saddam is supported in this war. This line is in the outer trigram indicating that he has external support. In fact, France, Germany and Russia are among the many nations against the US-led Coalition.

[5] The Parents line You clashes the Object indicating that the US-led Coalition cannot get United Nations approval to go to war.

[6] The second line Chou moves to become Yin wood which counters back. Yin wood is parallel to the Object Mao. This is in the inner trigram meaning that his people will change from support to go against him. They help the Coalition forces to overturn Saddam.

[7] The Object Mao forms a wood alliance with Hai and the year branch Wei. Hai, Mao, or Wei days are most dangerous for Saddam.

[8] If the Coalition forces cannot win the war in Mao month, they still have a good chance in the first 12 days of the Chen month when wood is still strong. After that, it will be difficult until the Wei month (July).

Conclusion: USA and UK attack without UN approval. They are fierce but Iraq fights back in the beginning causing casualties and losses for the Coalition. However, the Coalition is too much stronger than Iraq. In the end, the Iraqi people will turn against Saddam and he has to go. We cannot see whether or not he will die. We can see clearly that he will have no more power. This will happen on a Hai, Mao, or Wei day before 18 April. The probable days are April 4, April 8, April 12 or April 16.

Fact: Baghdad was besieged and after bombing on the 7^th and 8^th of April, Saddam's Republican Guards lost their fighting power. It is reported that only 17 out of 800 tanks remained on April 8. This paved the way for the Coalition forces to enter Baghdad on April 9. The Iraqi Ambassador to the UN declared that the game of war was over.
