Military "HUMMER" Wheels on a YJ?
below is the initial test fitting on a 8-lug 3/4ton axle
i got from the front of a Jeep J-20 pickup, it clears
except for the tierods, will us Hi-Steer arms and cut
the knuckles off or just use wide wheels spacers.
these are
16.5 x 8.25"
2 piece steel
wheels,
with alot of
backspacing
also they are
very heavy.
3 Left pics:

top:

this is the run-flat/
beadlock that is
inside the tire, (it's
installed 1/2 at a
time and then
bolted together.

middle:
close-up  of
area that holds
tire to bead.

bottom:
2 halves bolted
together after
installed in tire.
3 Right pics:

top:

assembles wheel

middle:
outer ring
unbolted

bottom:
both halve of
steel wheel
removed
i decided to paint them to match my YJ, red rings and grey middles
below:
my 5th (spare) wheel, it's different
notice the 16 bolts instead of 8
back to 3/4tonYJ's mainpage
Below:  3 pictures with the inner wheel temparary installed
using 3/4" of washers, it still contacts tierod-ends. thinking
about gettin some 1" spacers to use, still thinking on this one.
left/right
got some used
35x15.5x16.5
TSL SX's

all mounted up
with the beadlock
runflats installed.
just need to put
on the YJ
:)
they just won't
bolt on,,,,,,
i decided to go
with these
1 1/2" spacers
only on the
front axle the
rear had clearance
this is the steel 1.5" spacer bolted on, it gives about 3/16" clearance
for the tierod
:) the rear fit fine without spacers, (on my full width Dodge
dana 60) so now my front track is about 3"s wider than the rear......
