Dana 60 "Detroit Locker and 4.56 gears continued
Day 4 cont. I also checked the contact pattern again, it
was perfect on one side and almost perfect on the other.
Day 5: i put the cover on, along with my "rear suspension
limiting bracket" and filled it with 85W140 gear oil,
(not synthetic) and installed drive shaft and both axle shafts
then took it for about a 20 mile easy drive, i drove it so
gentle it made me kind of laugh at myself. all i wanted to do
was heat everything up and then let it cool back down, also
everything seems fine. Didn't have the normal locker yanking
around and noises but i was driving like an old man, (no offense
intended to anyone) i've got alot of money in this Dana 60, and
would hate to destroy everything before it makes it out on the
trails!
