Liberty requires vigilance.

The current reports on anthrax "exposure" and infection, mostly "cutaneous" (skin exposure resulting in infection,) are a clear warning that some individual or even a group of individuals has begun to cross the boundary of basic respect for life and humanity.

This person or group doubtless harbours extreme notions of a political and possibly religious nature that have contributed to this betrayal of humanity.

We would of course hope to prevail upon their conscience to turn back now from this horrible place where a devastating break from humanity looms.  These individuals have fallen under a spell which is feeding their most animal nature with predatory hatred.

Anger is addictive; it produces its own high.  We would hope that they tarry a bit on this road to imagined domination,  and seek a wisdom which is not so quickly satisfying but which is attuned to the life given by the Creator--not a gift given lightly or else it would have no value in sacrifice.  Like an infant, this dialogue with life grows over time,  in response to its outer life.  Nurture it with love!

We would hope and pray that "terrorists" become aware of the delusion of the cult
adoration of an individual, no matter how charming and skillful that leader is in saying the things which seem to empower.

Having said this, it is only too real to say that for every cup of poison poured out, great suffering will follow, and a devastating price is to be payed by those who survive.  This is based on the logical premise that warfare requires a continued escalation or else deteriorates into a
prolonged process of withdrawal without clear and decisive finality.

Those who would wish to "terrorize" the free world under the deluded guise of saving us from ourselves and our open and tolerant culture--in which they themselves have been allowed to thrive and live among us--are merely caught up in a mad compulsion to murder the world.

May God and the all the God-given might of mankind prevent it.

To the Terrorists:

Call him Allah, call him Creator, call him Great Spirit, call him or her whatever you have been taught--just call him.  Call him
in prayer and quiet study and find a quiet space in your heart that will show you a door out of your bedazzlement with OBL or whatever frail human it is you hold in such reverence that you allow your heart to be perverted.

Stop now before you cause the mighty hand of justice to fall without mercy.

We will all suffer for it, but you may well consider that we would prefer it to your slow and pathetic eating away at our freedom and peace.

May God help us all.
