
Weapon Definitions:
Listed below are different types of firearms & examples of each.
Pistol:
A firearm designed to be held and fired in one hand. The Pistol fires
one round per pull of the trigger. Two catagories of pistols are semi automatic
& revolvers.

Machine Pistol:
A pistol that has select fire capabilities, and is magazine fed. Some Machine pistols have shoulder stocks.

Submachine gun:
A firearm that is magazine fed and fires pistol cartridges in the fully
& semi automatic mode. The weapon is designed to be fired with two
hands, and generally has a shoulder stock.

Carbine:
A lightweight firearm that is shoulder fired with a relatively short barrel (usually under 20"). The Carbine fires one round per pull of the trigger. Carbines usually fire smaller caliber projectiles than Rifles.

"Civilian" Models of above submachine guns
Automatic/(Assault) Rifle:
A firearm that is magazine fed & shoulder fired and fires (selectively)
in the semi & fully automatic modes of fire.

Rifle:
A shoulder fired firearm that fires one round per pull of the trigger, and has a barrel length of over 20". May be semi automatic. Rifles also generally fire larger caliber projectiles than carbines.

Shotgun:
A shoulder fired firearm that was designed to fire multiple projectiles
through a smooth bore. Shotguns are generally not select fire capable.

Machine-gun:
A shoulder fired or crew served weapon that fires in the fully automatic mode. The firearm is generally belt fed and is supported by some means (I.E.: Tripod/Bipod). There are Light, Medium & Heavy machineguns.
