Welcome to the Troop 916 Home Page!

Troop 916 has been chartered to the Wesley United Methodist Church, in beautiful White Oak, PA, since 1993. In mid-1992, after Pack 916 enjoyed several very successful years, Greater Pittsburgh Council approached the leaders of Pack 916 about the possibility of forming a new Boy Scout Troop. Of the original 12 scouts in the troop, 6 reached the rank of Life and 4 of those young men have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Troop 916 is very proud of our Eagle Scouts! Matt Nelson became the first Eagle Scout from our troop after he passed his Eagle Review Board on July 9, 1997. Matt's brother, Adam Nelson is our newest Eagle, having passed his Eagle Review Board on January 13, 2003. We expect to have several more scouts earn the Eagle rank in the next few months. Visit our Eagle Nest page for updates.

We are proud to be a troop that is involved in many service projects. We participate in the annual White Oak Community Cleanup Day scheduled in April or May each year. Near Memorial Day, we place flags on the graves of fallen veterans in the Grandview Cemetery in McKeesport and collect the tattered flags for retirement after Veteran's Day.

We are closely associated with Cub Scout Pack 916, which is also chartered to Wesley Church.

Our next outing is scheduled for January 9 - 11, 2004 when we are going camping at the Ligonier Camp Conference Center near Ligonier, PA.

Visit Adam's page. He did this as one of the requirements for the Communications badge.
