Doddridge and Smart going to state
Jake Doddridge and Neil Smart will be going to the Arkansas State Track Meet to represent the Glen Rose Beavers. Doddridge is the 5AA South District Champion in the shot put. Smart won his bid to state by finishing second in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.

The meet is Friday, May 4.

Panther Relays recap
The Glen Rose track teams headed to Magnet Cove Tuesday night to compete in the annual Panther Relays.

The Beavers don't have incredibly large numbers this year but the tracksters that are out there are competing well.

In girls action, Brynn Murphree placed 4th in the high jump with a jump of 4'6". Denise Goslyn placed 5th in the 400m dash. Mae Meridith finished 6th in the 1600m run.

For the boys, Jake Doddridge finished 2nd in the shot put, coming up an inch short. Brett Cruse finished 6th in the discus. Neil Smart got a 2nd place ribbon in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.

Next up for the Beavers will be the 5AA South District Meet next Tuesday and Thursday.

Track practice in full swing
Track practice is in full swing. The Beaver track teams will be competing in 2 ribbon meets, the Lion Relays and the Panther Relays.

Then, of course, will be the 5AA South District track meet, and then qualifiers will head to State.
