Tackey & Tsubasa "Hatachi" de Debut

Giant Hits Concert with all Johnny's Jr.

DVD Personal Review

Just one judgment: it's better than the VCD!
I'm so glad I decided to actually spend my money on the DVD. I was afraid that it would be exactly the same as the concert VCD, but it turned out to be MORE FUN.

I actually got the overseas version of the DVD so the package and the bonuses are actually the same as the VCD. However, the picture quality is much better than the VCD. It's sharper and gives the feeling of "wow, this is live concert" more than the VCD. The audio is also better; clearer, that is. Then of course the DVD pack only contains ONE disc, whereas the VCD contains two. It makes the pack lighter.

Now the contents... they're pretty much the same.
The interview parts, however, are MUCH MORE INTERESTING than the ones in the VCD. It shows the cameraman opening the door to the interview room and T&T were in a more relaxed attitude when they did the talk in the interviews. They sat facing each other in front of this kind of a film-editing desk and talked as if they were conversing. Some very close-up takes on T&T's faces and they look extremely handsome!!!

Another interesting thing from the content: in the menu, you can actually select "voice commentary" option. If this is selcted, you actually get to hear Takki and Tsuba's comments on every song that they performed in the concerts. Some of them are very funny.
For example, during the ero-ero dance part (okay, you know I would choose this as an example!!! ^^;;;;), Takki and Tsuba started giggling when Takki took off his army-camouflage coat. Then when all the others started to gather, Tsuba commented, "Minna hadaka!" ("Everyone naked!") Then they laughed again. At the end of the ero dance, Tatsuya Ueda (KAT-TUN), stayed the latest on the stage while everyone had already cleared. This is, of course, because Ueda had to dance while Takki performed his next song, which is "Negai". When they saw that Ueda was still pirrouet-ing on stage, Tsuba chuckled and said, "Ah! Ueda!"
So basically these things make the DVD livelier than the VCD. Not that I'm telling everyone to buy the DVD, but DIE-HARD FANS SHOULD BUY!!! This cannot be missed. ^_^

That's about all I can say about the DVD. I don't want to go over the concert parts all over again because I've already talked about it.
Overall Judgment: 9.5
That's 0.5 higher than the score I gave the VCD. The extra voice commentary and interviews and the audio/video quality of the DVD almost makes up for the complaints about the concert I had before in the VCD review.

(Note: You know, when I was watching this ero dance part, I was in the room with my MOTHER. She saw the ero dance and gasped, "Oh my God! What are they doing?" Nyahahahaha... gomen ne, okasan... ^^;;; But she didn't scold me for watching such things. =P She's a nice mommy. In fact, my DVDs are courtesy of my mom and her friend, Tenik, who shopped for it in Hong Kong, in the middle of a hectic magazine conference. Hontou ni arigatou gozaimasu!)
