at least Eddie presumed this way. But since Blue Man was the first person Eddie met, we knew that their relationship was not as simple as we have thought. Blue Man revealed his story about his life and more importantly, his death. Blue Man died because of Eddie. Eddie never knew that he killed a guy, but when he heard the story from Blue Man, his mind was full of questions. Eddie wondered why Blue Man died instead of him while he was the one who caused the accident leading to Blue Man's death. Blue man told Eddie that with his own death, at least one good thing came. Eddie still didn't get it, what good could possibly come with somebody's death? The answer he got stunned him, "You lived."...... The lesson Eddie learned from this guy was that there was no random accidents and events in the world cause everybody is one way or another related to one another even though we may never meet. Afterall, "strangers, are just family you have yet to come to know." That is why though everybody has their own story, the stories are one. As simple as it sounds, one thing leads to another, and this is the core idea of the Butterfly Effect, few can really get this.
¡@¡@¡@Eddie was left alone while his second person came, Eddie's captain while he was a soldier. What Captain told Eddie made him mad, yet sad. Eddie was told that the wound he got which was a shot in the leg and being viewed as the biggest burden in his life was made by Captain. The moment he was told this truth, rage was the only feeling in him, he punched Captain hard (though since they were both dead, the punch couldn't really do any harm to Captain). However, after hearing the whole story, Eddie forgave Captain and he even felt sorry for him. What was Captain's story? He conveyed the truth why he shot Eddie. That was because what Eddie was doing was harming himself and other soldiers, so Captain sacrificed Eddie's leg. "My leg! My life!" Eddie yelled of course, Captain only replied "I took you leg to save your life."...... Sacrifices, small and big are being made by everybody. We sacrifice something to save something we think is more important. Eddie sacrificed his leg for his life, what had Captain sacrificed? His life. Eddie didn't remember seeing Captain again after the war, and that was because Captain was dead...a bomb killed him, yet since the bomb took him, it could not take others, like Eddie. Captain sacrificed his own life so that the more important thing was secured, including others' lives and the promise "nobody gets left behind" ...... Sometimes when we think we have given up so much thing for something is stupid or not worth it, think again. It's funny that many people know how to say "you just can't have everything you want!" but when things happen, they just want everything! Wake up and smell some coffee!
¡@¡@¡@The third person Eddie bumped into was an old lady named Ruby. Yes! The Rudy as the name of the amusement park! Eddie and Ruby had never ever met before they first meet in Heaven. Can you tell their relationship by now? Eddie wanted to get away from the park for a few tens of years and he shared the same wish as Ruby, that the park had never been built. We can see why Eddie hated the place so much. His father worked there, he worked there and he died there. In the park, he is nothing more than a maintenance man and he felt worthless doing his father's labour. But why would Ruby hoped that a park named after her had never been built? Before the park was built, she was a waitress and she met her prince charming one day who later built his wife an amusement park and named after his beloved woman. Later, there was a huge fire in the park and Ruby and her hubby lost everything, not even a penny was left. Rudy, thus hated the fact that the park was ever built! But what was Ruby doing waiting for Eddie? Ruby kept the people she wanted to protect safely in the place she once worked and met the man she loved and among those, a guy Eddie hated was there, his father. Ruby told Eddie some stories about his father and changed some perception of a boy to his father. What she wanted to teach him in Heaven was that "holding anger was poison. It eats you from inside." and "hatred is a curse blade, and the harm we do (to others we suppose), we do to ourselves." She wanted him to forgive his father because Eddie's father worked in the park which bore her name and she felt that he was one of her loved ones. Though forgiving his father, Eddie still thought that his father's death and his mother's collapse afterwards were the reasons why he had not left the pier, yet Ruby hinted that he was wrong. She of course refused to tell him the real reason as there were two more peole Eddie was going to meet and learn from!
¡@¡@¡@When Eddie was still alive, he heard in many funerals that Heaven is a place where people could meet their loved ones once again, so starting from the first person Eddie met, he wondered why he still have not met anyone he wished was there, his mother, his brother, Marguerite, his adored wife. Finally when it came to the fourth person Eddie got to meet, his beloved came. The place he had another opportunity to meet her was weird to him, they were in a wedding party! Between Eddie and Marguerite, there was love and only love, no hatred. Oh maybe some hatred, the hatred that Eddie had after his wife left him alone and went to Heaven. He was mad at her because he thought she had left him too early, she had died too young at her 47. After she died, he had not loved another woman. He could feel that there was no love after the day that she died. Even the love he once had towards her, has gone. This was what Eddie perceived all along. Yet, lovely Marguerite told him another story. She actually felt the love even after she had died! Love towards another person after that person dies, becomes memories, precious memories. Memories are different from loves, yet one replaces next. The time Eddie met Marguerite was great, it was marvelous, it was simply too amazing that for the first time after he arrived Heaven, he did not want to go on. He wanted to stay with her, forever. However, after the lesson Marguerite has delievered, he has to go.....to the final terminus.....
¡@¡@¡@Eddie finally came to the final stop where his first sight was a bunch of children playing by the river. They laughed, they played, yet nobody seemed to pay any attention to Eddie except one girl who waved him over. This was a beautiful girl and she started to talk to him. They carried a conversation and the fact he least wanted to be true is revealed. That she was another person that was killed by Eddie. What makes her different from Blue Man was that the moment she was killed, he was awared of someone was dying and he did nothing......When Eddie was in a war while he was young, he and his mates burned a place like a hut and when the fire was killing every living things and destroying everything, he knew he saw something, someone...he tried to make it clear to himself, yet his mates stopped him from doing so, and he did nothing......That someone was this little girl...Eddie felt so guilty that he kept crying.......and after he stopped, the girl showed her smile again, she showed no hatred, no anger, no nothing. He felt so bad about himself and without knowing the reason, he told her that he cried because he did not know the meaning and purpose of his life.....this is what he felt all along in Heaven yet dare not to tell anybody he has met, but her. She told him that his meaning and purpose of living lies in the place he worked for his life. Yes! The place he wanted to escape from!!! Why he was in a place he hated so much? "To protect children!" To protect children for her! She was the one who pulled him to Heaven....so as to protect him... |
