So what is Blender? Blender is a great little free 3D graphics program/publisher. It can accomplish most things that much more expensive applicaions can, but in a much smaller package and it is (again!) free!
Not only that, but Blender is a community driven program. By this I mean that most of the users par-take in the development of the application. They can do so by simply writing tutorials for others, helping with translations for documentation, the list goes on and on.
Blenders history is very rich and colorful. As is it's future. Blender, formaly owned by NAN (Not a Number), was bought out by it's users. That's right! After NAN filed for bankrupcey proptection, the future of Blender was unknown. So the community, that really drove the application to begin with, pulled together and bought the application. I don't think anyone would do that for any other application in the market today! More over, it has never been done before.
Currently, Blender can be found at Blender3d.com & Blender.org. You can go to Blender3d for a full history of the application and what is in store for the future. You can also go to Blender.org for the source code and other materials pertaining to the program.
