Kaunas |

Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania. It is at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers. Kaunas was the capital of Lithunia between the World Wars when Lithuania was independent, but Vilnius was still part of Poland. |

This train station is at the Polish/Lithuanian border. You must change trains when you reach the border because Poland uses the standard gage railway of Western Europe, and Lithuania and Russia uses a narrower gage. |
