Our first stop in Lithuania was Kanaus. We only spent one night there and didn't really get a chance to see all that much. We'll need to go back someday and see things properly. |

When I took this photo, I assumed that this was a church. Arleen Gould wrote to tell me that "it is a place where people get married - civil marriages. It is fun watching folks walk in all decked out in wedding dresses and tuxes going in one door and coming out another. Then, in the parking lot they start the party. We saw bottles of champainge opened and even wedding cakes cut from the trunks of cars. " |

I love this street sign from Kanaus. At the end of the block, this street dead ends at a river. There are no guardrails at the end of the street. If you run the stop sign, you could end up in the river. This sign give you a warning of the danger. |

This is a postcard I bought. I wanted to visit the Hill of Crosses, but we just didn't have the time. We were faced with either making it to the hill or finding the village where our Grandparents lived. We chose to find Krekenava. |
