Public Monuments
I am facinated with public art. Sometimes, the best public art is not the most "important".
This was near our hotel, in a plaza outside the art museum. I am fairly sure this is a memorial for Lithuanian independence. If you know, send me an e-mail. The Lithuanian Frank Zappa fan club pestered the local government long enough that they were finally allowed to erect this monument to the rock star. It is the only Frank Zappa monument anywhere in the world (that I know of). It is in a small courtyard just off a main street. (Oh, that's me standing there looking lost).
A college student asked my brother why he was taking photos of advertising. He told her, "these are my friends two favorite activities." The poster is for a play that was running at the National Theater. I have no idea what the play is about, but I could hazard a guess.
You see icons on poles all over Lithuania. Is it a reminder of Lithunania's pagan heritage?
