Arriving in Vilnius

In and Around Vilnius, tha capital city of Lithuania.

Leaving the Train Station, you can see the last intact gate of the old walled city.

This is called The Gates of Dawn.

Once Inside the gates, you look back and see the Catholic Shrine above the gate. For some reason, we never went inside.

Gedeminas Square is one of the focal points in Vilnius. When we were there, the square was under renovation and it was hard to get a good photos of this statue. Curiously, most man and horse statues are of mounted riders. Does anyone know the significance of the dismounted rider?
